Zayda Steel, another promising talent from WWE, decides to quit the company. Steel, who joined the wrestling promotion brand as part of their ID (Independent Development) program in 2024, has opted not to renew her contract with the company. What has raised eyebrows is how she kept the reason behind her exit a mystery, perhaps indicating a move to other prominent brands like AEW or TNA.

On October 9, 2025, she took to her social media (via X), dropping the bombshell announcement, stating, “I’ve decided not to renew my WWE ID contract.” Check out the tweet below:

I’ve decided not to renew my WWE ID contract. I’m incredibly grateful for all the knowledge, experience, and opportunities I’ve gained along the way, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me. I’m only 21, and have already done so much, but I’m just getting…

Undoubtedly, fans were taken aback by Steel’s shocking exit, but they backed her with warm comments, where one wished her well for her future, “Continue adding to your already impressive resume!!!” However, some believed that her exit was the result of WWE not making the right moves for her.

Zayda Steel Risked Family Disapproval to Make It in WWE

In the kayfabe world of professional wrestling, Zayda Steel has been a rising name in the independent wrestling circuit. Despite being only 21 years old, she displays outstanding in-ring finesse and has already won two championships outside of WWE, and has gone on a long reign with both. Moreover, she has been part of some great matches, including the Gauntlet Match in 2024 hosted by the Dream Star Fighting Marigold promotion. However, The Real One’s career would not have existed if she had not dared to drop out and pursue wrestling. Steel shared her lore on X; check out the tweet below:

When I dropped out of high school to pursue wrestling my (very strict) Arab mom said if WWE didn’t contact me by the end of the year I would have to quit wrestling and go back to school, 8 months later I had a WWE tryout 🙃 https://t.co/MU2VHaKTHn

Despite making it big initially, her talents were recognized by the world’s largest wrestling promotion brand, as they decided to give her a shot. According to SE Scoops, she has been trained by experienced wrestlers, including Brian Johnson, Diego Cruz, and Drolix. This has also diversified her wrestling style, making her a good mix of “versatile and dynamic” and an all-rounder who can hit hard, all while making it count.

Zayda Steel Credited Natalya for Boosting Her Confidence

Despite parting ways with WWE, she forever remains grateful for the opportunities the company has brought and for supporting her wrestling journey, which in a way has paved the path to her becoming a wrestling great. However, more than funding her dreams, she is grateful to Natalya, TJ Wilson, and Pete Dunne for bringing out her inner fire.

During an exclusive interview with Casual Conversations with The Classic, The Federette recalled her fangirl moment with The Queen of Harts and discussed their sweet and fiery moments that brought her “a lot of confidence.” Steel said,

I’ll say this, I learned the most and felt the most comfortable in that dungeon, I didn’t think I was. Obviously, when I first went there, I was shy. But she is so, so, so sweet and definitely brought a lot of confidence out of me. Even as simple as like we were all working on heat, she stopped us, and was like ‘Hey, I need you guys to find your inner f**k you. All those bad words and negativity that you read on social media, yeah, I want you to feel it.’

She continued about how Wilson was standing during her training session and how he would give a nod of approval, which made her nervous but excited at the same time.
