You and Everything Else is a story of a friendship that is trying to endure through the hardships of life. As per Netflix, the show’s logline is as follows:

You and Everything Else chronicles the journey of two friends who have an enduring, complicated love-hate relationship. They find their lives intricately linked as they cross each other’s paths through various phases in life.

This has made many talk about the possible similarities between the show and Firefly Lane. At a press conference for the show that happened at Ambassador Seoul – A Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul; star Park Ji-hyun said that she had lost weight for the role.

She also explained what the crux of the story was (via Korea Times):

Ultimately, it’s a story moving toward its final chapter, leaving a deep, lingering impression like finishing a beautiful book. I hope viewers follow our journey closely.

This K-drama weaves at least 4 different timelines- from when the girls are teens, then in their 20s, in their 30s, and ultimately in their 40s. It ends in their 40s because that’s when Sang-yeon decides to commit assisted suicide in Switzerland following her cancer diagnosis.
