The most recent segment of WWE SmackDown concluded in a feisty manner, with Cody Rhodes getting the better of Seth Rollins. However, that was not the only highlight of the show. It featured major segments and set up next week’s segment with four epic matches, two of them being championship matches. Check out the table below (via WrestleTalk on X) to learn more about the matches:
This trend happens to be a part of Triple H’s booking, where he prefers the PPVs to have limited matches but be filled with quality. Moreover, with the way tonight’s show developed, the final episode of the Blue Brand could get more memorable matches and segments.
Our Predictions for the 4 Matches Announced for Next Week’s SmackDown
The bookings of the four matches have got the fans jumping with excitement, and they made sure to showcase it on social media. Some fans even claimed that the upcoming episode of the Blue Brand would be “better than Wrestlepalooza” (via X).
That was not all, because they dropped their hot takes surrounding the matches and made wild guesses on who could answer Sami Zayn’s US Open Challenge. With that being said, here are our predictions for the four matches.
1. WWE Tag Team Championship: The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. The Street Profits.
The Tag Team Match between The Wyatt Sicks and The Street Profits has been highly anticipated for weeks. The challengers were extremely close to winning the titles at the 2025 Clash in Paris PLE, where the numbers game advantage of the champions cost them the match. This time, they will be prepared for everything and will wage war against them.
Despite Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford giving their all, they will fall short against the champions. This time, it will not be from outside interference but rather the two fighting among themselves, as Uncle Howdy has been filling their minds with doubt for each other, and it will all erupt during their match.
Our Prediction: The Wyatt Sicks retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.
2. WWE Men’s United States Open Challenge: Sami Zayn (c) vs. A Mystery Opponent
Sami Zayn has become a fighting champion like John Cena and has been issuing an open challenge each week to give a career-changing opportunity to a budding talent. For now, the challenger remains a mystery, but something makes us believe that Solo Sikoa and his MFT could potentially return, where he would answer the challenge.
Since the Canadian wrestler is in the form of his life, WWE will not strip him of his title just yet. Rather, it would sow seeds for a potential match at the Survivor Series: WarGames edition of the PLE.
Our Prediction: Sami Zayn retains the WWE Men’s US Championship.
3. Tag Team Match: Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton vs. Kiana James and Giulia
Another highly anticipated match of the night, where fans are thrilled to see Giulia finally crossing paths with Stephanie Vaquer. However, a heated altercation with Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer took out Giulia and Kiana James, leading to the match.
With both champions going to be facing off against each other, WWE would prefer to send both champions as favorites to win the match. However, it will not be easy because tension between them will flare, and it will be evident as they will be forcibly tagging each other to flaunt their in-ring skills.
This will be used as an advantage by Giulia and Kiana James, as they enjoy playing dirty and would use it to steal a win against their opponents.
Our Prediction: Giulia and Kiana James win.
4. Last Man Standing: Damian Priest vs. Aleister Black.
Last but not least, the Last Man Standing Match will be the show stealer of next week’s SmackDown segment, where Aleister Black has tried to fill Damian Priest with self-doubt. Those efforts did not pay off well because The Archer of Infamy has bounced back stronger than ever, and he showed it when he attacked Black after his match. Check out the clip below:

Moreover, the former World Heavyweight Champion will be ready for all the dirty tricks from The Harbinger of Fury, as he will be showing the code he lives by. Both men will give their all, putting on a show, and we can expect that Damian Priest picks up the win, which will lead to another blow-off match ahead of next month’s PPV.
Our Prediction: Damian Priest wins.
Road to Crown Jewel: Why SmackDown’s Go-Home Edition Could Be the Best Yet
The go-home editions of SmackDown have been epic for the last couple of months, where the WWE Universe has witnessed some of the most epic segments and matches. From John Cena schooling Logan Paul to Drew McIntyre knocking out Cody Rhodes, there have always been moments that get the crowd buzzing with excitement.
This upcoming edition will be the same, as tensions have been evident between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. The Messiah tried to deliver a stomp to Rhodes, but he got a reality check as he faced his wrath. Check out the clip below:

Hence, we can expect that once again, Rollins will invade SmackDown with his Oracle, Paul Heyman, and The Vision to soften up The American Nightmare to finally get a win against him. Additionally, Carmelo and The Miz could also be featured in a match or a segment, as The Awesome was not thrilled with Melo dumping him. Looking at all the intriguing developments around the show, we can also expect a random but equally exciting match to take place.
