Bleach: No Breaths From Hell is a special one-shot manga that was released after the official end of the Bleach manga. This one-shot was released for the 20th anniversary of the franchise in 2021, and is a direct sequel to Thousand-Year Blood War.
This is the chapter that answers all questions related to what happens after TYBW. However, it has not been finalized whether the chapter will be animated or not.
Tite Kubo Has Already Created a Bleach: TYBW Sequel Chapter
Bleach: TYBW has already created a ruckus in the anime fandom. The final arc of the franchise began airing in October 2022 and has been divided into four arcs. While the first three arcs have already been adapted, the fourth arc, titled The Calamity, is expected to be released in the future.
While most people might think TYBW is the end of the road, the reality is that Tite Kubo released a one-shot sequel for the final arc called Bleach: No Breaths From Hell or Echoing Jaws of Hell. It is set 12 years after the Quincy Blood War. In this one-shot, the Gotei 13 hold a cereon for Captain Jushuro Ukitake, only to find out that something more sinister is happening to the souls of their dead comrades.
This single chapter not only introduces new characters but also a darker narrative tone than what has been seen in the original manga. It suggests that Ukitake might still exist, but not in the Soul Society or in the living world, but in the depths of Hell.
Here is a table with a ranking of all the seasons in Bleach:
Bleach: No Breaths From Hell Screams for an Anime Adaptation
Since Bleach: No Breaths From Hell takes place 12 years after the current storyline, it features an adult Ichigo who is already married to Orihime Inoue. The one-shot also features Kazui Kurosaki, the son of Ichigo and Orihime, who is a human born with Shinigami powers.
The arc also introduces fresh Soul Reapers as well as the concept of hell for the dead Shinigamis. In this one-shot, it is revealed that after death, a Shinigami’s Reishi causes their body to break down and be reclaimed by the soil of the Soul Society. However, those who are at the captain level have reiatsu that is too dense to be reabsorbed, and thus the souls of these individuals are cast into hell.
The powers sought by the Shinigami have a price, and being cast into hell is the price they pay after death. Thus, not only does this one-shot introduce a potential new protagonist in the form of Kazui, but it also introduces a completely new concept and enemies.
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement about the one-shot manga getting adapted. At the same time, Tite Kubo has only created a single one-shot without any extension of it, making it difficult to continue to storyline.
