“Who knows where it’s going to lead in the future”: Marvel Boss Hints Return of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki In Future MCU Projects

By Robert Taylor 10/15/2025

While we may not have seen Tom Hiddleston as his iconic character in the MCU after Loki Season 2, it might be about to change for the better. In a recent interview with Brandon Davis, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum revealed how the star might be associated with the company, possibly even after the end of Phase 6. He said:

So this idea that he was going to end up on the throne and we were be we’d be able to tie together all this timeline mythology into this idea about narratives and threads and stories was it it all just came together at the right moment at the right time for this beautiful ending and this glorious purpose… who knows where it’s going to lead in the future.

And as everyone witnessed in the second season of the show, Loki now sits at the crux of all existence as the God of Stories. Thus, while it may seem like the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are the end of the road for Hiddleston in the MCU, it all may not be as it seems.

Tom Hiddleston Is Pivotal for Marvel Studios in Phase 6 of the MCU and Beyond.

For most fans of the MCU, the expectation that Tom Hiddleston is taking his exit from the franchise as Loki was never higher. And after the events of Loki

Season 2, they were only boosted. But after the cast announcement of Avengers: Doomsday by the company, the star had something to say.

In one TikTok post by Max Balegde, the Kong: Skull Island star commented on the trailer, saying that he wasn’t sure whether Marvel would reveal his involvement in the movie so early. He also said:

Very excited. It’s been an extraordinary chapter in my life playing Loki, and it’s not over yet.

While his comments may be talking about his role in the upcoming film, with Winderbaum’s recent comments on Hiddleston’s executive production on Loki, mixed in with his knowledge of the comics, it may be hinting at more. And with the powers of a literal god of creation in his hands, the Doomsday and Secret Wars storyline will have to be continued in some manner.

Apart from that, since he canonically sits at the crux of creation in the franchise at the moment, Doctor Doom’s grand multiversal plan has to go through the God of Stories. Thus, Loki will be playing a pivotal role in helping our superheroes save creation from chaos.

Therefore, after Doom has been dealt with, someone will be needed to bring stability and order to the Multiverse, and who better than Loki, who already has taken that responsibility to do so again. Therefore, there’s a high probability that his presence will remain in the MCU for a long while.

How Can We See Loki Returning in Avengers: Doomsday

As stated above, Doom has a grand multiversal plan that has begun to take shape in the MCU, and with many surrounding theories about what it is, it’s a safe guess that Loki is part of his equation. Therefore, we can expect the ruler of Latveria to first head straight for the God of Stories and try to get him on his side.

Another possibility is that Loki might intervene in the events that Doom has set in motion in an attempt to achieve his goals. And seeing a great unrest and disorder brewing in the multiverse, he may take matters into his own hands and leave his throne to help the Avengers.

But with a limitless intellect, rivaling Reed Richards and Tony Stark, and other forms of sciences and magic at his disposal, the various broken powers that Doctor Doom has might take a toll on Loki and the rest of the heroes. Thus, we’ll have to wait and see.
