The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 10 Recap

The Summer Hikaru Died episode 10 began with Yoshiki trying to stick Hikaru’s severed head back as the latter kept spewing his insides. After attaching the head to the body, Yoshiki lost his consciousness and woke up in a hospital. Hikaru was right beside him, but didn’t wake up. On the other hand, Tanaka could be seen talking to himself that he is lucky that ‘thing’ decided to show up in this era, gained its own personality, and even chose to weaken itself.
Episode 10 also reveals that Tanaka is actually blind, but he calls it a paranormal impairment, and he can only see with his company-given glasses. He said that his company was looking for something from ‘their’ world. The news broadcast says that a man in his 20s disappeared after entering the Darumazuka Tunnel.
Kurebayashi explains that the tunnel was haunted, and long ago, bones were found in it. However, all the bones were only of torsos, and the arms and legs were scattered in different villages. The skulls were never found, though. In the meantime, Hikaru wakes up and looks better, but he is still weakened.
At school, Yuuta sees Yoshiki’s diary and talks about Unuki-san, a secret word. A long time back, when the area was impoverished by diseases, a drug was made to abort unborn babies, made out of mercury. It was called Uronuki Medicine. Providing this medicine was talked about in code, and soon a shrine was built for Unuki-san on Nisayama mountain. After that, the diseases stopped spreading.
When the boys visited the shrine mentioned by old man Takeda, they found various heads sculpted out of wood. This triggers Hikaru’s memory, and he spills some important information. Apparently, those living at Kubitachi have sacrificed innocent people to offer their heads to the cursed god.

All these questions are still out and about.
