Apart from the main cast of High Potential, two new cast members will be added in the main and recurring roles. Shameless fame Steve Howey will be portraying Jesse Wagner, the precinct’s new police captain, who is described as a political animal who can launch a ‘million fundraisers with his smile’. Mekhi Phifer was also cast in a role.

While fans are divided about the hints of a romance brewing between Morgan and Adam, showrunner Todd Harthan revealed that the second season will see hints of a love triangle between Morgan, Adam, and Wagner (via CinemaBlend).

When you’ve got Daniel Sunjata and Steve Howey standing in the same space, and then you drop Kaitlin Olson in between them, chemistry starts to take off, and you go, ‘Well, we’re probably going to write to that.’ I certainly am putting that firmly on the table.

What makes their chemistry even greater is the fact that Wagner is intrigued by Morgan’s presence in the precinct and is not insecure. Harthan said that he is an enigmatic character and has a lot of charm.
