Netflix has officially confirmed that Nobody Wants This Season 2 will premiere on October 23, 2025. The hit romantic comedy series returns nearly a year after its breakout first season. It earned critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including the Emmys and Golden Globes. The follow-up brings back Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as Joanne and Noah. Netflix released first-look photos on August 14, showing Noah and Joanne adjusting to their next chapter.
Jenni Konner (Girls) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Girls, Six Feet Under) join as new showrunners and executive producers of Nobody Wants This Season 2. Nora Silver (Deli Boys) jo ins them as executive producer. Erin Foster remains the creator and executive producer, working closely with her sister and fellow EP Sara Foster (via Tudum).
What Is Nobody Wants This Season 2 About?
Season 2 picks up directly after the finale of Season 1. Joanne, an agnostic and outspoken podcaster, faced a major crossroads in her relationship with Noah, a kind-hearted rabbi. The season ended with Joanne deciding not to convert to Judaism after all, realizing she wasn’t ready for the pressures of being a rabbi’s wife, just minutes after she had committed to it at a Bat Mitzvah.
In Season 2, viewers will see what comes next as the couple tries to navigate real-life relationship challenges. They will work on integrating into each other’s families, facing social pressure, managing holidays, and reconciling personal values. Season 2 will also deal with Joanne’s sister, Morgan’s relationship. Creator Erin Foster is excited to explore how the relationship evolves. She told Tudum,
It’s such an interesting part of every relationship when you now have to see if you can make it work with each other’s friends, day-to-day routines, and how you handle the milestones that come in those first few months together from holidays, birthdays, and what you each think the future should look like.
She also noted that Season 2 is designed to feel like a natural continuation of the first, with the same emotional pace and tone as Nobody Wants This Season 1.
Who Are the Guest Stars in Nobody Wants This Season 2?
Season 2 adds a fresh slate of guest stars to the already stacked ensemble.
Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) guest-stars as Abby, Joanne’s middle school nemesis turned Instagram mommy influencer. Meester, who is Adam Brody’s real-life wife, appears in one episode.
Miles Fowler (Bottoms) plays Lenny, a member of Noah’s Matzah Ballers basketball team who’s set up with Morgan (Justine Lupe). Alex Karpovsky (Girls) plays Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple.
