Expert aesthetic doctor Jonny Betteridge has recently talked about Bradley Cooper‘s transformation. The doctor had previously commented on Cooper’s facial changes last year. On Instagram, the doctor has now given us a more detailed insight into what Cooper potentially went through in terms of surgical/non-surgical procedures on his face.
Dr. Betteridge began by noticing how Cooper has transformed from the “rugged, masculine” look to a more “refined and youthful” look. He based his observations on Cooper’s latest appearance at the New York Film Festival. The 50-year-old actor’s face looked smoother, and comparisons from his earlier appearances showed that it looked more lifted.
The doctor shared that Cooper might’ve undergone mainly five procedures on his face. He shared that the American Sniper actor probably got a well-done Botox procedure. He also shared that the actor might’ve done upper and lower blepharoplasty to refresh both his upper and lower eyelids. He might have also undergone a facelift and neck lift.
Betteridge also claimed that Cooper might’ve done some laser work on his face to smooth the skin quality. He further shared that the actor might’ve gotten the face and neck lift at the end of 2023, noting how the contour around his ear changed in pictures from before and after that period.

Not everyone loved the changes to Cooper’s face. While some admired his new looks, others felt his natural appearance looked way better on him. However, Betteridge shared that Cooper’s transformation is proof that more men are adopting both non-surgical and surgical treatments to maintain a confident look.
Another Surgeon Commented on Bradley Cooper’s Looks After His Appearance at Vogue Party
Reddit was rife with discussions on Bradley Cooper’s appearance when he appeared alongside Gigi Hadid at the Vogue party in mid-September. Fans noticed a visible difference in his face, with some comparing him to Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen.
After the discussion caught the attention of Dr. Rian Maercks, the founder of The Maercks Institute, he decided to weigh in. He shared with the Daily Mail that Cooper might have undergone a procedure “to tighten the neck or the lateral borders of the face to achieve a more youthful look.”
However, he shared that the procedure didn’t work well as it didn’t target the actor’s central face, causing a change in his overall looks. The doctor shared:
Bradley Cooper appears to show midfacial descent – the natural downward migration of tissues in the central face as we lose the ligamentous support that once held them. The result is a visual disconnect: a firm jawline and neck juxtaposed against a central face that continues to descend.
The doctor shared that it was this imbalance that gave him a “caricature-like” look, which is why there are comparisons being made with Sheen. Dr. Maerck shared that this was one of the most common pitfalls of modern facelift procedures. He shared:
Instead of rejuvenating, they can exaggerate heaviness or create a caricature-like resemblance, which is perhaps why some fans are making comparisons. Ultimately, truly natural rejuvenation comes from respecting and supporting the deeper ligamentous architecture of the face, not just pulling at the edges or layering on filler.
Other surgeons also shared their opinion on Cooper’s face. Dr. John Diaz shared that Cooper was looking different because of a combination of age-related changes happening throughout his face. He shared that the actor has been losing volume below his eyelid and cheekbone, causing hollowness and shadowing in these areas.
