Triple H Calls Out Shawn Michaels For Stealing NXT From Him in the Most Wholesome Way Possible

Triple H and Shawn Michaels were seen together on this week’s episode of WWE NXT Homecoming. The Chief Content Officer of the company and his former D-Generation X partner praised each other for the work they have been doing as key figures in the Stamford-based promotion. However, the night ended with ‘The Game’ calling HBK out for stealing NXT from him. However, HHH was rather hearty and jovial about the whole affair.

Shawn Michaels added a new post on his official Instagram account, where he is seen shaking hands with Triple H. The video showed the WWE CCO as “The guy who founded NXT” and  ‘Mr WrestleMania’ as “The guy who took over NXT.” The video also featured the song Illegal by PinkPantheress in the background.

With this, Triple H called Michaels’ takeover of the developmental territory illegal. However, his former teammate believes that he acquired the brand fair and square. Notably, ‘The King of Kings’ had kicked off the NXT Homecoming episode. Addressing the spectators, Triple H thanked them and credited them for the ginormous growth of the NXT brand.

HHH was joined shortly after by Michaels, who gave ‘The Game’ credit for the developmental territory’s rise, as well as all the deals he was signing. The WWE CCO also praised ‘HBK’ for his work as the head of creative in the developmental territory.

However, ‘The Game’ suddenly shifted the conversation and asked Michaels what he would do if he wanted to retake control of the NXT. Without hesitation, ‘Mr WrestleMania’ said that they would have a problem if that is what he intends to do. This prompted William Regal to enter the arena.

Interestingly, the 57-year-old tried to book Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a WarGames match against each other. However, the former D-Generation X teammates didn’t come to blows and ended up recording a reel for Instagram instead.

Several Main Roster Stars Were Featured on NXT Homecoming

This week’s Homecoming special of NXT took place on the original turf of the developmental brand, Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Before Triple H started the show, a video package showed the journey of several prominent main roster stars like Bianca Belair, Asuka, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and more, on the developmental brand.

Interestingly, several made roster stars who call NXT their home fought the current roster of the developmental territory. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair fought the first match of the night, defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Culling’s Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley.

Despite Paxley and Dame putting up a good fight, the reigning champs retained their titles. This was followed by Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams joining hands to fight Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of DIY. Lastly, the main event of the night saw Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Lyra Valkyria defeat The Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx.

Not all stars were seen fighting, however. Sami Zayn was seen giving Je’Von Evans a pep talk backstage. Evans, who is touted as the most likely breakout star of NXT, appreciated the words of the United States Champion.

Triple H Announces Saudi Arabia As the WrestleMania Destination for 2027

As mentioned before, Shawn Michaels had appreciated Triple H for all the deals he had been signing for the WWE. One of those deals will now take WrestleMania 43 to Saudi Arabia. The deal also includes the 2027 Royal Rumble, and as per reports, has been signed at a whopping $350 million.

Triple H announced Saudi Arabia as the WM43 destination in a video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of WWE. The Chief Content Officer of WWE shook hands with royal adviser Turki Al-Sheikh while breaking the news and said:

Thanks to our partners at the GAA (General Authority for Awqaf) and Riyadh Season, we could just not be more excited for this opportunity. This is an opportunity to show the world what I think most people already know — that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the world and excites fans from everywhere.

Several superstars and legends, including The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Charlotte Flair, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Stephanie Vaquer, and Bianca Belair were also present alongside ‘The Game’ for the announcement.

WWE established a good working relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by signing a deal back in 2018. The 10-year-long contract was worth $1 billion, and the company has been doing several of its premium live events in the nation as part of the contract.

The company even created a new PLE, Crown Jewel, as part of this deal, which also has its own championship. While the event is hosted in Saudi Arabia every year, Crown Jewel will move to Perth, Australia, in October 2025. However, the Middle Eastern nation has now bagged two of the biggest WWE PLEs for 2027.
