To Your Eternity season 3 returned after a gap of two years, enough time for people to forget what had happened in the season 2 finale. Season 2 episode 20 packed an emotional gut punch as it tied up the Renril arc with a future that no one could have foreseen.

Season 2 showed Fushi’s journey in Renril and the hardships he had to face. By the end, he claimed victory over the Nokkers, but it was a temporary win. In order to make it permanent, Fushi decided to go into deep slumber to spread his roots throughout the world. In season 3, Fushi has just awakened.

To Your Eternity Season 2 Ending Explained

By the end of To Your Eternity season 2 episode 20, Fushi decides to go into slumber so he can spread his roots to the entire world. His companions are against the idea, and March violently protests against it, but it’s of no avail. The Nokkers might have retreated from Renril, but they still lurk around as an invisible threat. Thus, it became necessary for Fushi to spread his roots to the entire world so he could terminate the threat permanently.

Before taking on his objective, he promised his friends that he would resurrect them in a peaceful world that is free from Nokkers. Fushi stayed at Renril, and his body only became a shell while his consciousness spread all around the world.

March did not want to live without Fushi, causing Hairo and Tonari to poison her so she wouldn’t have to go through it. Hairo and Gugu both die due to anti-Fushi extremists. Tonari and Bon died of old age. Tonari created records of Fushi, and people easily created a religion out of it. In the end, all of them lived their lives however they preferred.
