Insane Double-Edge Sickle Loadout in Helldivers 2
The LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle is an energy-based primary weapon in Helldivers 2, that operates like an assault rifle that literally shoots a barrage of laser pulses instead of bullets. It is the star of this whole loadout, and its combination of high fire rate and accuracy makes it an unstoppable powerhouse, especially against the Illuminate forces. The only downside is that it will damage you after prolonged firing.
The Double-Edge Sickle is extremely powerful against the squishy squids, but the genius of this specific loadout only works if you are constantly juggling between your primary weapon and your support weapon. For your support weapon, we recommend going for the LAS-98 Laser Cannon
What Stratagems should you use for this Loadout?
To truly make this loadout overpowered, you need to lean into a gameplay style that stacks damage over time, and the best way to achieve this is by getting the AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog” Dog Breath Stratagem. Your Guard Dog will constantly gas the Illuminates while you pick them off with your energy weapons.
For your other Stratagems, we suggest you get the A/G-16 Gatling Sentry, as it combines with the Laser Cannon and Sickle to become an unstoppable hail of bullets and energy fire. Another great Stratagem you should consider is the Eagle Strafing Run, which is great for clearing out small targets and will go really well with the Gatling Sentry
For the last Stratagem, we suggest you get the Eagle 500kg Bomb, which will be your ultimate reset button when you get overwhelmed with Harvesters and Voteless. The absolute screen-clearing power of the 500kg bomb will obliterate any flash mob coming your way and will give you a chance to reset and get back on your feet.
However, if you are fighting on open maps where those giant Leviathans are making your life miserable, then you can always swap the Sentry for the E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement Stratagem, which will make short work of those Leviathans. You can also swap out your secondary weapon for the GP-20 Ultimatum, giving you that perfect panic button for when the Illuminates get a little too close to your personal space.
