After years of anticipation, Nintendo is finally making the manifestation of many fans come true with the official release announcement of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, launching on December 4, 2025. To be more clear, the next entry in the legendary sci-fi series will be available on both the Nintendo Switch and the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2, making it the first major title in the franchise to bridge the generational gap, while also making sure players sticking with their last-gen hardware won’t be left behind.

As revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct, the one installment everyone has been waiting for, Metroid Prime 4, finally gets a date, and it will come out on December 4, 2025, marking an early Christmas present from Nintendo to its fanbase.
From what it seems like from the promotional material, for Switch 2 owners, a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be there. While Nintendo has yet to dive into the full list of technical differences, speculations say we might get to see enhanced visuals and possible gameplay refinements exclusive to the new console.

Additionally, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s official trailer reveals that the game is likely going to be embracing expansive environments, giving the developers more room to play around with, while retaining the franchise’s signature level design at the same time.
