The Bad Guys 2 is now available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
We covered The Bad Guys 2 when it first hit theaters back in July, but now that the crew is finding their way into our homes via physical media release, it’s time to revisit the animated comedy. I missed the movie during its theatrical run, but I’m so glad I had the opportunity to catch up with it on physical media. The first film in the series was my favorite animated film of 2022, and the sequel is a solid follow-up, capturing the same comedic charm of its predecessor while delivering gorgeous animation.
What’s The Bad Guys 2 about?
The Bad Guys have gone good, giving up their life of crime and instead choosing to live life on the straight and narrow. But when a string of thefts feels oddly similar to the crew’s M.O., they find themselves back on the suspect list. Who could be trying to frame the crew, and why?

DreamWorks has mastered the art of making a movie that parents can enjoy just as much as their kids. The animation style is sleek and vibrant, and the jokes are sharp and witty. The characters are silly, each of them feeling uniquely themselves with defined personalities and characteristics that help them to stand out in the fast-paced world they exist within.
Like an animated Ocean’s 11, the crew of the Bad Guys devises one complex plan after another. If those plans go awry (which they typically do), Wolf and the gang find new ways to wiggle their way out of trouble.
The blatant message of The Good Guys 2 and its predecessor is, of course, that it’s good to be good. It’s never too late to change, and choosing to be a good person, even when it’s difficult, is always the best option. There’s nothing groundbreaking about that, but when it’s delivered in a package this great and perfectly geared towards children, it’s an important one.
Though the message is clear, the ultimate goal of a film like this is to entertain, and there’s no denying the movie does that. My niece and nephews haven’t stopped talking about the movie since they watched it. Is it the next Shrek or Kung Fu Panda? Personally, I think the series is better than those franchises, and I’d be happy to see it continue for another ten movies.

Would I recommend this purchase? Yes! It’s a super fun sequel that the whole family can enjoy.
Is it worth a blind buy? Of course, especially if you are a fan of the first film (and who isn’t?)
