Seth Rollins has started facing his predicted “long-term ramifications” after sustaining an injury to his shoulder during his Crown Jewel Championship match with Cody Rhodes on October 11, 2025.
The Architect was booked for in-ring encounters in both the October 17, 2025, and 18 editions of WWE SuperShow in Japan, with one of them being a title match against CM Punk. However, the WWE brass chose to remove Rollins from the entire lineup of the Japan-based event because of his injury (via EliteClubS0B on X).

Several other sources, in addition to the one mentioned above, have disclosed that Dominik Mysterio will replace Rollins to face CM Punk with his Intercontinental Championship on the line on October 17. But what about Rollins’ match scheduled for October 18?
Who Will Replace Seth Rollins for the October 18 Edition of WWE SuperShow?
It’s almost confirmed that Japanese fans will see a Mysterio vs. Punk Intercontinental Championship match on October 17 at the WWE SuperShow instead of a Rollins vs. Punk match for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, many may not know about the future of Rollins’ second encounter scheduled for the October 18 edition of the Japan-based event.

Well, Triple H and Co. have already disclosed what would happen to Rollins’ October 18 encounter. The WWE had planned a six-man tag team match with CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Jey Uso as a side, and Rollins, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker forming their rival party.
However, Rollins’ exclusion due to the injury forced Triple H and Co. to drop Jey from the match and make it a regular tag team encounter featuring Punk and Namakuma locking horns with Reed and Breakker (via ITRWrestling).
How Long Will Seth Rollins Stay Out of Action Due to His Injury?
The WWE has yet to provide an official statement about Rollins’ injury, but it was reported that The Architect will undergo tests in the subsequent days to analyze the severity of his injury (via PWInsider). Nonetheless, Rollins’ removal from the lineup of the upcoming WWE SuperShow indicates that his injury isn’t something that can be taken lightly.
After learning about Rollins’ exclusion, several fans might wonder how long his injury will keep him out of action. Well, nothing can be documented as the WWE hasn’t stated anything about the severity of Rollins’ injury. However, it will reportedly push The Architect out of action for several months (via Sports Illustrated).
Considering that the year will end after just two and a half months, do you think Rollins will return to the ring in 2025? Let us know in the comments below.
