Sophie Brussaux and Her Trainer Rumors Debunked: How Did She Start Dating Drake?

By George Garcia 10/04/2025

Former adult star and current artist Sophie Brussaux shares a son with Canadian rapper-singer Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Adonis, but there a plenty of rumors and controversies attached to it. For one, although Adonis is the musician’s son, some fans made up some joking conspiracy theories due to the kid’s physical appearance.

Unlike the singer, Adonis is a fair-skinned blonde kid, which had fans questioning whether he was truly his kid or not, since neither he nor Brussaux is blonde. This even had Redditor u/Georg2020 taking to the r/memes subreddit to hilariously pull in a third figure into the picture, who was fair with blonde hair, and called him “Drake’s wife’s trainer.”

This meme posted on Reddit was even captioned as, “it turned out awkward,” implying that the child wasn’t the God’s Plan singer’s, but rather, of Brussaux’s alleged trainer. Still, some failed to note that this theory was only shared as a meme and were baited into believing such rumors to be true, since it was shared at a time when a lot of speculation was flowing around about Adonis actually being the Canadian rapper’s son.

Thus, for those on whom the meme might have rubbed the wrong way, here’s the truth: Adonis is, in fact, Drake’s son. This was confirmed by the singer himself in June 2018, when he revealed that the results of a DNA test proved he was his child (via PEOPLE).

Plus, for additional proof, Brussaux’s personal trainers actually include Hamza Lavezzi, her main trainer, and the coaches at the Street Fight Training Academy in France, as she has made evident through her social media account (via HotNewHipHop). As for the Reddit post? Well, that was nothing more than a meme shared to garner some laughs!

Furthermore, to address the overflowing curiosity of those fans who still might be wondering why Adonis’ physical features look so different from Drake’s: Well, you might as well remember that the singer’s mother, Sandi Graham, is a fair-skinned blonde queen herself. So those amazing genes might have something to do with Adonis’ appearance, after all!

How Did Sophie Brussaux Start Dating Drake?

Drake and Sophie Brussaux have been linked together since as early as January 2017, as per The Sun. According to the reports, the two were spotted chatting among a group of friends dining at a Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam on January 24. This was also around the time when the rapper was also rumoredly to be linked with Jennifer Lopez.

A few months later, TMZ claimed in May 2017 to have obtained text messages between the two. This conversation reportedly had Brussaux claiming that she was pregnant with his child, but the One Dance singer denied the allegations and texted her to get an abortion. Brussaux’s publicist also confirmed the existence of these messages at the time, to PEOPLE.

Soon after confessing that she was three-and-a-half months pregnant with his child, she hired two New York City lawyers to start the proceedings to prove paternity. After giving birth to their son on October 11, 2017, a paternity test followed, and the rapper revealed in June 2018 that the DNA test results confirmed that Adonis was indeed his child, after all.

In his track March 14, he even addressed the situation as well as his strained relationship with Brussaux, rapping,

She’s not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine / Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time, and it took was one time / S—, we only met two times, two times

So, yes, that should be enough proof to convince you that that young blonde baby’s parents are indeed none other than Drake and Sophie Brussaux themselves.

Sophie Brussaux and Drake’s Relationship Over the Years

While initially proving whose son Adonis actually was took some time, the rapper has since established a close bond with his son. For one, in his track Papi’s Home, he sang about missing the first few months of his son’s life, having experienced something similar during his own childhood with his father. He rapped,

I walked out on my only son / See, your mother raised a fine young man / Daddy’s home / And I know I missed so much of your life

The child now splits his time between both his parents, living with his mom in France and paying visits to his dad in Toronto and Los Angeles.

As for Drake and Sophie Brussaux, the two settled on working on their relationship after the paternity issue was closed. The two have since gotten to a much stronger place as both co-parents and friends. In October 2018, during his appearance on Lebron James’ unscripted HBO series The Shop: Uninterrupted, he said (via PEOPLE),

I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we’ve had our moments. I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father.

Continuing, he also added about Brussaux, “No matter what happens, I have unconditional love for the mother of my child because I want him to love his mother, and I have to project that energy.”

Then, in March 2019, he also invited Brussaux to the Paris stop of his tour (via PEOPLE). A few years later, the former adult star expressed her gratitude to Drake as well. She wished him a happy Father’s Day in a since-deleted Instagram post with a massive portrait she painted of him with Adonis, while emphasizing how “grateful” she was to him for being “the amazing father you are to our son.” (Via PEOPLE.)

Clearly, though their relationship started on an unexpected note, Drake and Sophie Brussaux have since mended their bond, and currently appear to be happy in their life as they co-parent their young child, Adonis, though they are still not in a relationship.
