Reacher Season 4: Release Timeline, Cast & Plot Details for Alan Ritchson Series

By Steven Williams 10/17/2025

Alan Ritchson will be back with your favorite crime thriller before we know it, and we simply cannot wait. It was already announced before the release of Season 3 that the Nick Santora-created series had been renewed for yet another season. Let’s take a look at everything we know so far about Reacher Season 4.

The series is based on the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, with each season adapted from a single book in the series. This time, Reacher will bring the story of Child’s Gone Tomorrow to the screen.

As for the cast, Ritchson will obviously be reprising the titular role in Season 4. Apart from him, eight new actors have been added to the ensemble, including The Hospital‘s Agnez Mo (via Variety). FUBAR‘s Jay Baruchel was cast in the show, only to be replaced by Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette.

Here’s a full list of the actors you’ll see in Reacher Season 4:

There’s a possibility that Maria Sten will reprise her role as Frances Neagley in the upcoming season, since she is getting her own spin-off, Neagley, real soon.

Reacher‘s hype is already pretty high, but do you think it can beat the record set by Season 3? Back in February 2025, Season 3 became the most-watched returning series ever for Prime Video, and it is still holding onto the title. Does Season 4 have what it takes to dethrone its predecessor?

So far, a release date hasn’t been revealed, but Season 4 is currently filming, and fans can expect it to drop sometime in 2026 (via Men’s Journal).

What Lee Child Book Is Reacher Season 4 Based On?

Reacher Season 4 will be based on Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in the original novel series. Season 4 is following the trend set by its previous seasons – the trend of not sticking to order.

The first season was based on the series’ first book, Killing Floor. However, instead of adapting the second book, Die Trying, Season 2 leaped straight to book number 11, Bad Luck and Trouble. Similarly, Season 3 followed the story of book number 7, Persuader.

In Gone Tomorrow, Jack notices a suspicious woman during his subway ride, and he immediately goes into business mode, ticking off signs of a su*cide bomber on his mental checklist. He concludes that she indeed is one and tries to talk her out of it before she ends up shooting herself. The book follows Jack’s search for answers behind her mysterious date. No further spoilers!

Alan Ritchson’s Promising Update on Reacher Season 4

Buckle up because Season 4 will blow your mind away, in the best way possible. Talking to Men’s Journal about the upcoming installment, Ritchson revealed that the fights are going to be nothing like you have ever seen before.

Calling it a “gauntlet” and a “labyrinth of fights“, Ritchson revealed that they shot 11 total fights in just the first week of filming Season 4. In his words,

It’s a gauntlet. I mean, it’s just a labyrinth of fights. We shot 11 fights in the first four weeks, and we’ve never shot anything close to that pace. Everywhere Reacher turns, he’s got another group on his heels. It’s fun, wild, and nonstop, and we haven’t done anything like it yet.

Ritchson added that usually after a day of filming, he would be in a “sweet mixture of both fake and real blood“, adding that Season 4 is going to be the “best” and “the bloodiest yet.”

He also teased the same on his social media:
