Peacemaker Season 2 finale is set to hit HBO Max in just a matter of hours. The eighth and final episode will drop on the platform on October 9 at 9 p.m. ET or 6 p.m. PT. It will continue the storyline from the last episode, where we saw John Cena‘s Chris Smith and his friends return to Earth-1.
In the previous episodes, Chris and the 11th Street Kids were stuck in an alternate dimension Earth called Earth-X. In episode 6, it was revealed that Earth-X is a world where the Axis powers won World War II. It meant that the people of this world are racists and sympathizers of Nazi ideology.
Once Chris finds out about this Nazi twist, things go into utter chaos around him. Amidst their fight with the Nazis, we get a major twist about Chris’s father, Auggie, who is the Blue Dragon in this world. Fans learn that Auggie is a good guy here, who did not believe in the Nazi ideology and wanted to help Chris and his friends.
He gives a speech about how he fought injustice on his own and did what he could. However, before he could complete the speech, Vigilante, played by Freddie Stroma, breaks in and stabs Auggie. Vigilante teamed up with his alternate dimension self and other 11th Street Kids members to save Chris and Emilia (not knowing that Auggie was a good guy).
As Emilia pulled Chris away from his father’s body, he kept mumbling, “I don’t think he was a Nazi. He wasn’t a Nazi.” When his brother attacks him, his teammates stop him and nearly kill him, but Chris stops them. Chris breaks down and says sorry to his brother before leaving for Earth-1.
On Earth-1, Chris had had enough with all the deaths around him. He surrenders to Rick Flag Sr. and his ARGUS team. He also gives away his Quantum Unfolding Chamber (QUC). We see that Keith survives, hinting that he would probably go after them, seeking revenge.
Do Eagly’s Powers Become Vital in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8
A trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 was recently dropped, which showed John Cena’s character in jail. He refuses to see any of his friends and calls himself the “angel of f**king death.” However, we know that he won’t be in the confines of four walls in this explosive finale.
We also see that Rick Flag Sr. has immediately put his team to work on the QUC. They open a few doors inside the chamber and find some weird alternate dimensions. And we see that one of their explorations might have gone horribly wrong.
It is likely that the 11th Street Kids and Cena’s character are roped in to solve a major crisis in an alternate dimension. Another likely possibility is that ARGUS accidentally opens the Nazi dimension, and Keith gets to this world to seek revenge. Either way, we will get to see a major interdimensional conflict in the finale.
And one character, who is set to make all the difference, is probably Eagly. We learnt that Eagly might have superpowers of a Demi-God as he is hinted to be the Prime Eagle. It makes Eagly the only character to have superpowers among the 11th Street Kids. Even James Gunn himself admitted that Eagly is the most powerful member of Peacemaker’s crew.
In the fifth episode, we see that the other Eagles listen to Eagly’s commands and attack Red St. Wild. When Keith or the Nazis probably invade Earth-1, Eagly will probably summon the eagles and attack them. They might be able to cause significant damage in the finale. We might even see the full extent of the bird’s powers in the eighth episode.
Peacemaker Season 2 Finale Predictions: Who Dies in Episode 8
One of the fan speculations about the final episode of Peacemaker Season 2 is regarding some of the major deaths. One fan shared that at least two of Peacemaker’s gang are about to die in the finale. The fan shared that John Economos, played by Steve Agee, will be killed by the cybernetically enhanced villain, Sasha.
The fan also speculated that Freddie Stroma, aka the Vigilante, will sacrifice himself to save John Cena’s character in the finale. Other fans also agreed that these two characters are most likely to meet such a fate in the episode.

Apart from these predictions, the other major speculation from fans was regarding the cameos in this episode. Fans believed that the Justice Gang would appear in this finale episode. Whether David Corenswet‘s Superman appears or not is anybody’s guess at this point.
The Justice Gang would either appear to help Peacemaker and his team during the final battle. Or they will swoop in for a cameo in the credits, where they would probably hire Peacemaker as part of their gang.
Will Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 Tease a Potential Season 3
When James Gunn was asked about a third season for the show on Threads, to which Gunn responded, “I think let’s get to the end of the season before you answer that question.” Gunn’s response suggests that Season 2 has a definitive ending, but he might also be waiting to make the big Season 3 announcement.
During a recent interview with Deadline, Gunn shared that many of the main characters from the show will continue to appear in future DCU projects. He gave a response similar to his earlier one when asked about Season 3. He shared:
You’re gonna find out more in episode eight because it’s not necessarily that. Some of these characters will continue, but also, it’s not exactly Peacemaker 3. I’m not ruling it out. You’ll see [episode] eight and maybe you’ll find out a little bit more.
After completing his WWE commitments at the end of this year, John Cena will turn his full focus to his Hollywood career. So, he will not only be available for a potential third season of Peacemaker, but he will also be a major presence throughout the DCU.
Peacemaker will probably serve as the beginning of a pivotal plot point for Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to Superman.
