The animator who brought the epic fight between Kaido and Luffy to life, Vincent Chansard, is returning for the upcoming episode of One Piece. Episode 1144 will adapt Chapter 1110, which depicts Saturn summoning the other Gorosei to join the battle on Egghead after his struggle in Episode 1143.
Kizaru and Saturn were light work for Luffy, but the rest of the Gorosei will prove to be a much bigger challenge for him and the Straw Hats. Chapter 1110 had already blown us away, but Vincent Chansard’s talent will elevate the experience. The visuals during Luffy vs Kaido were incredible and praised by One Piece fans, so we can’t wait to see what the next episode has in store for us.
Vincent Chansard’s Return to One Piece Promises Another Exciting Fight
In the more recent years, One Piece’s animation has progressed significantly from its earlier days. The movements are more fluid, and the colors are vibrant. The expressions of the characters are also on point, more natural yet lively.
The most iconic episodes are the ones with the protagonist confronting the most dangerous enemies. However, nothing could beat the episodes that adapted the showdown between Luffy and Kaido, the Strongest Creature. The best part was witnessing the former awaken his Devil Fruit and seeing him achieve victory.
Vincent Chansard gave his all while animating those episodes of One Piece. It wouldn’t have been the same without his vision. The cheerful and vibrant colors gave Gear 5 another level of greatness, especially since Sun God Nika is all about bringing happiness to the world.

Finding out through @pewpiece on X that Chansard will be animating Episode 1144 is a blessing. Fans have been waiting for the rest of the Gorosei to enter the battlefield, and now it’s here, but with his expertise. We can only imagine how incredible their Zoan forms will look in the anime adaptation, but he is sure to surpass our expectations.
Luffy’s Fight Against the Gorosei Won’t Be an Easy One
Apart from Jaygarcia Saturn, who was already a nuisance, there are four more Elders Luffy has to face: Marcus Mars, Topman Warcury, Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, and Shepherd Ju Peter. They are the Celestial Dragons with the highest authority in the World Government and only answer to Imu.
We will witness the rest of them join the fight, transforming into their Zoan forms. The Straw Hats will struggle heavily against them as their powers and speed are unlike anything they’ve seen before. Sanji desperately demands they escape, but Zoro is still fighting against Lucci.
Meanwhile, Luffy, who is still in his Gear 5 form, is fighting Saturn, Warcury, and Ju Peter. The latter of the three even successfully devours him, but Dorry and Brogy arrive on Egghead and decapitate Ju Peter. The reunion will also be a highlight of the upcoming One Piece episode, though it remains unknown if this will be adapted in 1144 itself.
