The brief summary spoilers for One Piece chapter 1160 have just graced the internet, and they finally reveal Monkey D. Dragon’s contribution to the God Valley. When God Valley was first discussed within the story, Dragon was not disclosed to be a part of it. However, the spoilers confirm that not only did he shoot a Celestial Dragon, but he also saved Shanks from the ongoing terror on the One Piece island.
This proves that Dragon’s shift towards revolution against the World Government started with the events of God Valley, and following that, he became the most wanted man in the world. Also, he saved Shanks just like Shanks saved Luffy, which creates an interesting parallel between the three One Piece characters.
Dragon’s First Step Towards Revolution in One Piece
Since his introduction in One Piece, Dragon has always been a stoic figure who represents revolution against the World Government. He holds the position of the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, but no one knows how he established the mysterious organization in One Piece.
The previous chapters pointed out that Dragon was an ordinary Marine soldier who was asked to attack the residents of God Valley. When he raised his voice against the injustice, he was silenced by his Superiors, which frustrated him. According to chapter 1160, Dragon decided to do something about it, and evidently, he shot a Celestial Dragon, who was after Bartholomew Kuma at the time.
Attacking a Celestial Dragon is considered to be the biggest crime in One Piece, and this probably marked Dragon’s path of defiance against the World Government. While there were other developments within the spoilers, nothing compared to what Dragon did, as it resulted in a chain of events that changed the One Piece story forever.
Dragon’s Rescue of Shanks Mirrors Shanks’ Rescue of Luffy
The spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1160 also confirmed that Dragon saved both Shanks and Shamrock in the end. In the last chapter, Shanks’ and Shamrock’s mother asked Dragon to protect her children, but there was no telling if he could protect them in the chaos of God Valley. Still, the spoilers pointed out that somehow he managed to save them.
Dragon saving Shanks in some ways mirrors Shanks saving Luffy. While the circumstances were very different, there is a chance Dragon’s actions influenced Shanks when he found out about it. The parallels between the three characters would certainly become a major plot development in the future of the One Piece storyline.
