My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3: Which Character Should Be Single? Details Inside

My Life With the Walter Boys is the latest addition to the list of shows that center on a love triangle involving two brothers and the main character. In fact, one of them is currently one of the hottest shows on Prime Video: The Summer I Turned Pretty. While Alex Walter (Ashby Gentry) and Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) have been the center of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2, Alex would be better off single.

In fact, in the second book, My Return to the Walter Boys, on which this season is based, Alex and Jackie admit that they do not have the romantic spark to be a couple. However, the show takes a detour from that and sees Jackie dating Alex, although she clearly has stronger feelings for Cole (Noah LaLonde).

It is painfully obvious how Alex completely ices out Jackie at the beginning of Season 2 because she ghosted him after he confessed his love for her. The kind and sweet Alex viewers had come to know pretty much vanishes, which only emphasizes the point that he is at his worst when he is pining after Jackie. So, they would most probably be better off being friends.

My Life With the Walter Boys: What Should Alex Do In Season 3?

By the end of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2, Alex has new potential love interests in his riding trainer, Blake (Natalie Sharp), and his best friend, Kiley (Mya Lowe). So, Season 3 could explore his relationship with either of these characters if, and that’s a big if, he decides to break it off with Jackie, finally, so that she can be with Cole. However, it would be best if he just stayed single.

In the season finale, Alex walks in on Jackie admitting to Cole that she is in love with him. On the other hand, Alex is left reeling after he sees Kiley and Dylan kissing, not to mention the subtle signs of his jealousy every time he sees the two together, and that time he cancelled his plans with Jackie to be there with Kiley.

Pursuing a relationship with Kiley could potentially ruin Alex’s friendship with her, so he should consider whether that is a risk worth taking. He has already made things complicated for Jackie by starting a relationship with her when she needed time to process her feelings for Cole, especially since Cole feels the same way about her.

In Season 3, Alex should take a step back and let Cole and Jackie decide how they want to take their relationship forward. Instead of getting into a new relationship, Alex could dive deeper into his interest in rodeo and see if he is brave enough to pursue it professionally.

Ashby Gentry Wants More Love Triangles for Alex

Alex’s lover boy era seemed to have ended with My Life With the Walter Boys Season 1 when he fell head over heels with Jackie. In Season 2, he has got that rizz that Cole always wielded, and Ashby Gentry, who teased new Season 3 details, thinks that the once-nerdish Walter brother should be in more love triangles.

In an interview with Elite Daily in late August, Gentry was asked which connection Alex should pursue more seriously: Jackie, Blake, or Kiley. He replied:

“I’d personally love to see them all explored more seriously. I’m just like, ‘Put him in every love triangle.’ Trying to get in there with everybody. Alex has a lot of figuring out to do.”

While Gentry is right that Alex has a lot to figure out, perhaps the best move would be stepping back from romance and focusing on himself. Only time will tell when Season 3 arrives next year. Meanwhile, here are some key details about the show:
