Addison Rae had a brief yet memorable appearance in Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story, portraying Evelyn Hartley, a character who meets a tragic end at the hands of Charlie Hunnam’s Ed Gein.
In the show, Gein kidnaps Evelyn after being fired from his babysitting job when she returns home. He then brings out his mother’s dead body, places it before Evelyn, sets down a bucket, and kills her with a hammer.
Evelyn Hartley was a 14-year-old girl who went missing in 1953 while babysitting at the Rasmussen house. While Gein was initially suspected in her disappearance, he denied any involvement (via The Lineup).
Authorities cleared him of any involvement in her disappearance after no remains of Evelyn were found on Gein’s property, and he passed two lie detec tor tests. However, many continued to suspect his involvement.

Charlie Hunnam Reveals Sarah Paulson’s Advice on Tackling the Dark Role
Charlie Hunnam took several measures to embody the notorious serial killer Ed Gein in the third installment of Netflix’s Monster series. Among other preparations, the actor revealed he sought advice from Sarah Paulson, an old friend and frequent collaborator of Ryan Murphy.
He shared in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
I did bump into Sarah Paulson, who’s worked with Ryan Murphy a lot and tackled some pretty dark characters, and she’s an old friend of mine from way back in the day.
He further reflected on her advice on handling difficult roles, sharing that Paulson encouraged him to challenge himself and trust his inner strength to tackle the character.
So I asked her advice about navigating it, and she was really kind and basically said, ‘Challenge yourself. Don’t be afraid. It’s inside you, just look deep and find it.’
Though the series has received mixed to negative reviews, with critics describing the show as overly voyeuristic, unfocused, and lacking depth, Charlie Hunnam has earned praise for his performance in the series.
