Orlando Bloom hasn’t been confirmed for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, yet. However, the actor hasn’t been approached yet for the role. However, being fans of Orlando Bloom, we do believe that the actor should be a part of this movie.
Naturally, we placed Orlando Bloom in three different characters in which Bloom could potentially return to the land of Middle-earth.
3. An Unknown Elf
Of course, it would be sad to see Orlando Bloom portray a different role of an Elf other than Legolas. However, with the involvement of fans wanting Bloom to portray any character in the upcoming Andy Serkis movie, the actor could portray a different Elf whom Aragorn meets along the way on his quest to hunt Gollum.
There are several characters that Bloom could potentially play, including Glorfindel (who was cut from the Peter Jackson movies). He could also be a part of Gollum’s journey, where he encounters the horrid creature on his way.
2. A Ranger Like Aragorn
With the storyline of the Andy Serkis movie following Aragorn along his journey, Gollum and Aragorn’s chase forms the main storyline of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum
During his journey, Aragorn meets a plethora of characters, including Gandalf (confirmed by Ian McKellen’s comments) and others. Well, Orlando Bloom could potentially portray the role of a ranger who helps Aragorn in his quest.
According to Tolkien’s works, Aragorn is indeed met with fellow Rangers from the North. In the fan-made film, the creators introduced a character named Arithir, a fellow Ranger. This is one of those ways that Andy Serkis can potentially introduce in the upcoming movie.
1. A Voice Character
Well, the film is about Gollum, and there could be some interesting CGI characters that Gollum might also encounter during his exploration in the wilderness.
There are several creatures in J.R.R. Tolkien’s world that haven’t been portrayed in live-action films till now. Maybe Legolas could be a character that is the Ring’s manifestation during some of the earlier flashback scenes of Gollum.
Orlando Bloom Might Just Not Be a Part of The Hunt for Gollum At All!
In an interview, Orlando Bloom commented on the fact that he hasn’t been approached for a role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
Speaking to Today, the actor revealed that he doesn’t want the character of Legolas to be replaced.
I have not heard a peep, actually. I don’t know. I know it’s focusing on Gollum, so anything’s possible. It’s such an amazing part. I’m so grateful to have been a part of those movies. But I haven’t heard.
He further continued,
Listen, I’d hate to see anyone else play Legolas, you know what I mean? What are they going to do? Are they going to put somebody else in as Legolas?
Well, we would hate to see Orlando Bloom portraying any other character rather than any other character. However, it would be better to see Orlando Bloom being a part of a Middle-earth film than not be there at all.
