KISS Members and Their Net Worth in 2025: Is Gene Simmons the Richest Among Them?

By Paul Hernandez 10/09/2025

Formed in 1973, KISS was an American rock band that gathered a loyal following with hits like Rock and Roll All Nite and Heaven’s on Fire. The original lineup included Paul Stanley (guitarist), Gene Simmons (bassist), Ace Frehley (lead guitarist), and Peter Criss (drummer). Every member contributed to the band’s vocals. KISS remains one of the most influential rock bands in history.

By the time KISS came to an end in 2023, the final lineup looked like this: Stanley, Simmons, Tommy Thayer (lead guitar, vocals), and Erin Singer (drums, vocals). The band went through many changes over the years, but their fans followed them wherever they went.

While their fans hold them to their promise of one-off concerts, let’s take a look at the current net worths of the members, with the exception of Eric Carr and Mark St. John, who passed away in 1991 and 2007, respectively.

1. Paul Stanley

Stanley formed KISS in 1973 and has been the only member, alongside Gene Simmons, to be with the band from its inception to its 2023 conclusion. In 2025, Stanley’s net worth is reported to be $200 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

The 73-year-old musician helped set up the band’s unique stage presence with their signature makeup looks and larger-than-life music. As per PEOPLE, Stanley was influenced by music when he was a young boy, having been gifted his first guitar at the age of seven.

Prior to forming KISS, he joined Simmons’ group, Wicked Lester. After that group disbanded in 1972, Stanley and Simmons reached out to Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, and that’s how KISS came to be formed.

2. Gene Simmons

While Stanley’s net worth speaks for his popularity, he is not the richest band member. That spot is taken by Simmons, whose net worth stands at $400 milli on

in 2025, via Celebrity Net Worth.

Before joining KISS with Stanley, Simmons was in multiple bands, including The Lynx, Bullfrog Bheer, and, of course, Wicked Lester. The tongue-sticking, fake blood-vomiting “Demon” remained the band’s co-lead singer and bassist since 1973.

During one of the band’s performances in 2023, he wasn’t able to give his 100% as he fell ill in the middle of the set. The show was paused for a bit, but soon resumed with Simmons sitting down for the remainder of it.

Recently, Simmons got in a car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway on October 07 after he crashed into a parked vehicle (via USA Today).

Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.

Simmons is 76 years old. He is married to Shannon Tweed, and the two have two children together – Nick and Sophie.

3. Ace Frehley

According to Celebrity Net Worth, 74-year-old Ace Frehley is worth $1 million in 2025. He stayed with the band from 1973 to 1982, after which he began his successful solo career. Despite walking away, he did return to play with the band on multiple occasions.

He was a guest in 1995 and 2018. Frehley rejoined the group in 1996 for a reunion tour and stayed with the band until 2002.

You may have seen videos of Frehley’s iconic guitar solos where his instrument bursts into flames from the sheer intensity of his aura, or in other words, light and smoke bombs inside the guitar.

While currently on tour, Frehley’s team announced (via Instagram) the cancellation of the remaining 2025 dates due to ongoing medical issues after recent hospitalization.

4. Peter Criss

Peter Criss’ current net worth (via CNW) is reported to be $5 million. He was with KISS from 1973-1982, before exiting. He later returned to the band with Frehley for the reunion tour and left again in 2001. In late 2002, Criss rejoined the band before permanently calling it quits in 2004.

Prior to joining KISS, Criss played with other bands in the mid-to-late 1960s. He was approached by the group after they saw him in an advertisement in the East Coast edition of Rolling Stone.

As for why he left the band, Criss once opened up about his struggles to PEOPLE, stating, “It always had to be Gene’s way. It was an ego thing. There’s more to music than three chords.

After a long period of inactivity, Criss announced his first solo album since 2007 earlier this year in April. He told Rolling Stone that his rock album will be released this fall. Any time now!

5. Vinnie Vincent

Vinnie Vincent joined KISS as the replacement lead guitarist after Frehley’s exit in 1982. Unfortunately, his time with the rock band was limited, and he ended up walking away from it all in 1984.

While his current net worth isn’t public information, a report claims that the amount was estimated to be around $1.9 million in 2024.

As per PEOPLE, Vincent was fired by the end of the Lick It Up tour after he refused to sign an employment contract given by Simmons and Stanley. He later formed Vinnie Vincent Invasion, releasing two albums before the 1989 breakup.

Over the years, he collaborated with KISS members from time to time, even working as a songwriter on their album, Revenge.

6. Bruce Kulick

Bruce Kulick is reportedly worth $5 million in 2025, as per CNW. Unlike others in the band, he did not adopt an onstage persona during his time in the group.

After joining KISS in 1984, he worked on five studio albums and two live albums before walking away from it all in 1996 after the Alive/Worldwide tour. However, Kulick did make contributions to their 1998 album, Psycho Circus.

Kulick married Lisa Lane in 2014, and the couple records and shares acoustic covers of the band’s songs on his YouTube channel.

7. Eric Singer

Eric Singer’s current reported net worth is said to be $15 million (via CNW). He joined KISS in 1999 after the death of Eric Carr and was a part of their albums Revenge and Carnival of Souls, as well as a few tours.

When Criss returned in 1996, though, Singer stepped away from the role, only to return in 2001. He rejoined KISS in 2001 and stepped away temporarily in 2002. In 2004, he was welcomed back into the group and stayed till the end.

Criss’ portfolio includes touring and performing with artists like Queen’s Brian May, Black Sabbath, and more.

8. Tommy Thayer

Tommy Thayer joined the band in 2002 and remained a member until 2023. His reported net worth currently stands at $12 million (via CNW). Before becoming a permanent member, he had co-founded another band, Black ‘n Blue, which surprisingly opened for KISS on their tour in 1985.

He also worked with Simmons and Stanley on their book, Kisstory, and managed the 1995 Worldwide Kiss Convention tour. Prior to establishing himself as KISS’ lead guitarist in 2002, he worked with the band as a producer/editor of several long-form videos as well as film releases.

Eric Carr’s Net Worth at the Time of His Passing

Eric Carr replaced KISS’ drummer, Criss, in 1980, and remained with the band until his passing in 1991 after he was diagnosed with heart cancer. His final appearance with the band was at the 1991 MTV VMAs. He passed away at the age of 41. At the time of his passing, Carr’s net worth was reported to be $5 million (via CNW).

KISS also consisted of band member Mark St. John, who was only with the band for a few months in 1984. He passed away in 2007 of a brain hemorrhage at 51 years old, and his net worth is unknown.

Looking at the list, you can tell that Simmons is the richest member of KISS, followed by Stanley, with Frehley taking the last spot.
