Jinx’s Arcane Defeats Exposed: The Real Reason She Never Won Fights

Jinx, voiced by Ella Purnell, was a standout character from Netflix’s Arcane. Despite being a badass character who is always resourceful, she has seen defeat more than victory during the two seasons of Arcane. A Reddit user pointed out the reason why this could be the case.

Another reason why Jinx lost so many fights was her deteriorating mental state due to past trauma and the death of significant characters.

Jinx in Arcane loses several key fights, including battles against Ekko in Season 1, and both Vi and Warwick (in his enhanced form) in the Season 2 finale. Jinx fights against Vi and Caitlyn alongside Sevika, but she loses the battle.

Jinx’s Powers and Abilities in Arcane

Jinx has numerous powers and abilities in Arcane that often combine her resourcefulness with weaponry.

From the get-go, Jinx is an excellent shot, beating Mylo and Ekko in the training simulator. She uses a mix of handguns, like pistols, and eventually even possesses a Gatling gun.

Before the era of adopting her “Jinx” personality, she struggled to build weapons as Powder. In Season 2, we see Jinx expertly assemble bombs with the power to decimate structures.

Her resourcefulness leads to her building a new arm for Sevika with just a slot machine system.

Jinx even utilizes the Shimmer to her advantage, which gives her enhanced agility and physicality. The cost of this enhancement is the deterioration of her mental state in the latter season. She can flash-step her way out of any incoming attacks.

Jinx Had An Honorable Ending in Arcane

Many pivotal moments led to Jinx’s honorable sacrifice to save Vi from the falling Hextech tower. Despite her throwing herself to death, there were subtle visual cues like a lingering purple shimmer and a final shot of an airship leaving Piltover, suggesting that Jinx used the complex system to escape.

Ella Purnell herself tried avoiding a direct answer when questioned if Jinx was dead, in a Netflix interview with YouTube:

Um, we don’t know. We’re gonna leave that open to interpretation
