Alice in Borderland just wrapped up its much-awaited Season 3. Hinting at the fact that the real-life world is coming to an end, the anticipation for a potential next season has started rolling out. While there are no confirmed plans about the same, director Shinsuke Sato, in an interview with RadioTimes.com on September 25, 2025, said that,
If you’re asking me whether I’d be interested or not, I would certainly say yes.
The visionary further discussed his idea and interest in developing the Alice in Borderland spin-off manga, Alice in Border Road. Written by the original author, Haro Aso, the spin-off takes place in Borderland but is different from Arisu and Usagi’s epic saga. Furthermore, even the cast has something to say on their return about the foreseeable future.
Alice in Borderland Cast Hints at the Show’s Future Beyond Season 3
Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya’s portrayals of Arisu and Usagi are bringing praise to the show. They have managed to grip the audience with their acting.
The two were recently interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, and they have something to say about the future of Netflix’s Alice in Borderland
I am a fan of the show myself, and to be able to make season three comes with a bit of pressure as well because it’s so beloved by the global audience. And of course, if it’s going to continue in some way, I’ll be very keen to be part of that.
Tsuchiya, who is one of the major keys of Season 3, said,
Thinking ahead, obviously, in this season, which you haven’t seen yet, [Usagi is] pregnant, so there’s going to be a child in the future, and she would love to see that child return [to the normal world], not just the two lead characters. The story is set to be familial, I think that could be really interesting.
Even though Season 4 is yet to be renewed or even announced, the two stars shared their part, which subtly hints at a possibility coming to life.
Arisu and Usagi’s characters in the concurrent season are forced into such hellish circumstances, which also come with a ramification. But what will it be?
What Could Alice in Borderland Season 4 Explore If It Happens?
Alice in Borderland ends with a subtle cliffhanger, pointing towards a new season possibility. Arisu and Usagi return to the real world after the former chooses to live, although it comes with pain and disaster.
The Man in the Hat in the Borderland hints at a calamity that will destroy the world, which will lead souls to the desolated place. Anticipated, and drawing upon Tao’s comments, Arisu and Usagi might live in a good place and raise their child.
But the prediction soon becomes reality when multiple earthquakes and the news about the shift in tectonic plates become evident. The closing moments of the show shift to California, hinting that the story could expand with players from around the world.
In a diner scene, the camera points down at a waitress’s badge reading ‘Alice.’ It suggests that the next chapter may follow an American counterpart, much along the lines of Squid Game.
