WWE wrestler Myles Borne is a rising star in the WWE. The 26-year-old performs at and is signed to the company’s NXT brand. Notably, he also faces difficulties with his hearing. Here’s all you need to know about the star’s health issue.
Myles Borne was born with Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN). This is a rare but fatal condition due to which babies are unable to breathe properly once they’re out of their mother’s womb.
Borne spent a few days in the NICU, where doctors had little faith that he would survive. Thankfully, however, baby Borne persevered. However, the side effect of surviving this condition is hearing loss. Thus, Myles Borne is partially deaf.
Borne, whose real name is David Bostian III, was taught wrestling by his father, who was a coach, so that he wouldn’t get bullied. Today, he has transitioned from amateur wrestling to pro wrestling and wrestles for the biggest promotion in the world.
How Does Myles Borne Communicate Without Wearing Hearing Aids?
During his amateur wrestling days, Myles Borne used to wear his hearing aid inside his headgear. This allowed him to properly listen to the instructions of his coach. However, the 26-year-old doesn’t do so in WWE. As per Fox 35 News, Borne relies on reading lip movements and facial expressions to bridge the gap.
You could be booing, cheering, I don’t know what you’re doing, but I can read the look on your face… He’s smiling. He likes what he’s seeing. Or he’s upset. He’s mad.
Myles Borne also sees his hearing loss as something that worked in his favor. He noted that while his peers were busy socializing during wrestling practice, he found himself out of place.
So instead of trying to fit in, he focused on the words of his coaches. This helped him get a head start when he started competing.
The Randy Orton Meme Associated With Myles Borne
Interestingly, Myles Borne shares a lot of visual similarities with WWE Superstar Randy Orton. Due to this, he is often called The Viper’s lookalike. In fact, several memes and comments on social media call Borne a secret son of the 14-time WWE world champion.
Addressing the running gag, the 26-year-old star marked a stark and funny difference between him and The Apex Predator. Taking to X in February 2025, Borne tweeted that while Randy Orton hears voices in his head, he, on the other hand, is unable to hear anything.
Bro I’m not Randy Orton, he hears voices… I don’t hear shit
Myles Borne is currently dating fellow WWE wrestler Stephanie Vaquer. The duo met each other on the NXT brand. Several rumors regarding their dating status popped up on the internet when the two stars were spotted together in some pictures on social media.
After La Primera won the Women’s World Championship by defeating IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza, Borne congratulated Vaquer. Posting an image of the two together on Instagram, the NXT wrestler confirmed that he was indeed dating The Dark Angel.
