Accompanied by Aneesha, Clark, and Jamila, in the current episode, they arrive at Shadow Lake, Washington, at one of their hideouts. Invasion Episode 5 Builds Tension Through Survival and Mitsuki’s Hivemind Link

In the episode, Trevante (Shamier Anderson) and Mitsuki Yamato (Shioli Kutsuna) survive the helicopter crash. Trevante struggles with his fractured memories and is barely able to walk. On the other hand, Mitsuki and the others scramble to keep him moving as Aliens attack them.

Desperate to protect Trevante, Mitsuki tries to divert the Alien. When the soldiers prod the creature, unaware it’s linked to Mitsuki’s own body, she feels the pain, which ultimately knocks her unconscious.

Jack Hollander (Eric Lange), Nikhil, and the rest of the crew arrive at the scene. Nikhil, worried about Mitsuki’s fugues getting worse, helps her by inserting the device he made to stop the Alien communication on her neck.

The episode is a slow-burn, like others, layering each scene with suspense and contradictions. Mitsuki, unable to digest why Nikhil (Shane Zaza) helps her so much, remains cautious of each one’s move.

The team leaves the zone, marching towards the airport. And that’s when the real shock steps in, which legitimately took the episode to another level.

The Shocking Infinitas Betrayal Anchors Episode 5 as a Turning Point

Aneesha, Clark, and Jamila take refuge at Infinitas’ hideout. Stressed about their kids’ well-being, Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani) and Clark (Enver Gjokaj) connect with Jenny and talk with Luke.

Elsewhere, Jamila (India Brown) overhears Marilyn’s conversation with one of her scouts. After knowing that Trevante is on a mission to get to the mothership, she decides to volunteer and reach out to him.

Clark decides to take Jamila while Aneesha enters the garage to take the car and weapons for safety. Stopped by Marilyn, who asks her to trust and take flight back home, Aneesha hesitantly agrees.

The real showdown strikes in the Apple TV+ show’s episode, just when Hollander and the crew are ready to head back to the quarters, two cars arrive at the airbase. It has Infinitas, along with Aneesha, Clark, and Jamila.

Marilyn asks for an antenna connection to contact her scout from the Dead Zone. Hollander gives her five minutes to wrap up, but little does he know that just a minute can cost him everything!

The two, Hollander and Tanner, go to the control room of the airbase. Marilyn tries to connect with her agent, but after a few attempts, she finally gets through. Trevante, who is at the base, smells betrayal, alarming Nikhil and Tucker about the same.

Inside the control room, Marilyn Tanner slits Jack Hollander’s throat in one seamless motion. The betrayal leads to gunfire across the base, exposing Infinitas’ true colors.

Joel, the nephew of Marilyn, is unattacked, being a part of the betrayal, shocking Jamila. Aneesha, Clark, and Jamila get on the plane with others. While Joel tries to grenade the helicopter, he is taken hostage by Trevante.

The chopper takes off while Marilyn and her group look at them. The episode thus ends with a question. Why did Infinitas betray everyone, including Aneesha, Clark, and Jamila?
