Ex-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon, recently told the story of a low point in their lives. The incident had cost the McMahon family dearly and had almost stripped them of all the money they had because of one wrong move.
Linda McMahon appeared on the October 1, 2025, episode of The Sage Steele Show. The hostess asked her about any time when she and Vince McMahon thought that they had done something from which there was no coming back. Mrs. McMahon said no, then proceeded to describe a financial crisis that had devastated them.
She said that her husband invested money in a construction company on the advice of an accountant they had. She noted that the accountant himself had invested in the company, but the whole business failed, which led them to go bankrupt while she was pregnant with Stephanie McMahon.
He made some suggestions that we should invest in a, because he had invested, in a construction company, of all things, which of course we knew absolutely nothing about. But we did put money in some construction accounts, we co-signed on some loans for those.
That went belly up, which eventually put us into bankruptcy, and it wasn’t the wrestling side of what we were doing in that business, but it was the other side that we had invested in outside of what we were doing with the wrestling entity. And we lost everything. My house was auctioned off, my car was repossessed in the driveway, and I was pregnant with Stephanie, our second child. So I know what it’s like to lose everything.
Linda McMahon highlighted that she narrates this story to college students during conferences and asks them not to be afraid of taking risks. She believes that risks and mistakes help people learn things better.
Vince McMahon’s wife also said that the falls they take in life don’t define them, but rather how they get back up from them do.
Linda McMahon Calls on Educators in the US to Make Schools Safe
Gun violence is a big problem that has hit several schools and universities in the US. One of the latest instances of this took the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
Taking a stance against this, the US Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, called on the educators to keep educational bodies safe. She especially laid stress on teaching and modeling civil discourse.
We’ve learned that it’s not just about discourse, but it’s the way we have discourse… We have to be more civil. We have to teach how to disagree. Hold on to your beliefs and your principles. Be willing to listen, because you may not always be right. [H/T K-12 Dive]
Linda McMahon sees these ongoing issues of deadly violence in schools as a profound societal challenge, which also underscores a tear in the political fabric of the nation. Hence, she believes that intervention from the bottom up needs to be taken to deal with this problem.
Vince McMahon’s Daughter, Stephanie McMahon, Is Now a WWE Hall of Famer
Stephanie McMahon, the baby Linda McMahon was pregnant with during the unexpected period of bankruptcy for the McMahons, is now a WWE Hall of Famer. The former General Manager of SmackDown was inducted into the Hall of Fame by none other than The Undertaker at Wrestlepalooza.
Vince McMahon’s daughter was moved to tears upon hearing the news from one of WWE’s greatest legends himself. Thus, she will be present at the Hall of Fame ceremony in March next year to receive the honor. Below is the clip of the 49-year-old’s HOF induction by The Deadman.
Interestingly, this year, her husband and WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Together, the power couple had formed The Authority, a villainous stable that was active in 2014-16. The group was directly responsible for the breaking of The Shield when it recruited Seth Rollins and asked him to betray Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
