Hollow Knight Silksong was released on September 4, and while it is an amazing title that has come to fruition after six long years of waiting, players have been complaining about the one mechanic that is setting the latest title apart from its prequel, the Hollow Knight. And that is the downwards slash mechanic, also called the Pogo Jump.

The Pogo Jump in the first Hollow Knight game was fairly simple, at least compared to what we are seeing in SilkSong, which changes everything by making the downwards slash an angled attack at about 30 degrees, which makes some parts of the map more frustrating than ever.
Fortunately, the Crest of Wanderer can help you get back to the original moment you are familiar with from the previous installment, ultimately unlocking an easy mode, at least with the moment.
How To Unlock Hollow Knight’s Moveset In Silksong

For what many members of the community are pointing out, the difficulty of the new Pogo Jump in Hollow Knight Silksong is dialed up a bit too hard, and many are looking forward to somehow reverting back to the normal downwards slashing jump from the original game.
To do so, the player would need to unlock the Crest of Wanderer item, which can be found in Wormways. For those who are unfamiliar, Crests are a mechanic in Hollow Knight Silksong that allows the player to play with different skill sets, essentially helping them make different builds.
The Crest of Wanderer comes with a skillset that is inspired from the original Hollow Knight game, and hence allows the player to utitlize a few mechanics from the first game, the most important one being, the original pogo jump.
Where Is The Crest of Wanderer in Hollow Knight Silksong?

In order to get the Crest of Wanderer, the player needs to make sure he has completed 3 different requirements first. These being unlocking the Silkspear and the Sprint Step abilities, and defeating the Bell Beast in The Marrow.
The first step to getting the Crest of Wanderer begins with buying the Simple Key from Pebb at the Bellways entrace for 500 rosaries. Which will be later used to unlock the access to Wormways, found at the West of Mosshome and blocked by a door (as marked in the picture below.)

Once in Wormways, the player will find a hut, and inside lies a challenging part of the game, featuring traps and an enemy rush for the player to face before reaching a candlelit room, where the player will finally find the Crest of Wanderer.
This new crest features red and yellow slots for equipment and will allow the player to execute the same attacks and movement as seen in the first game. However, the player should keep in mind that this will also decrease the range of Hornet’s attacks, ultimately changing how the combat is executed in the game.
