For the newer Helldivers 2 recruits who are wondering why our latest Major Order progress sits at a big fat zero, the answer is painfully simple: we need to actually defend a planet first. Not spread out like confused tourists, not tackle three fronts simultaneously, we need to pick one and win.
This latest Major Order demands defending against seven Terminid attacks. High Command’s dispatch makes it clear: bugs are expanding beyond the Gloom for the first time since their initial spread, hitting Federation worlds with “totally unprovoked” attacks. Multiple planets now face swarms of fascist insects overwhelming SEAF defenses.
The catch is obvious this time around: defense Major Order progress only moves when planets get successfully defended. Zero successful defenses equals zero progress on the meter, and every failed planet becomes another launch point for future bug attacks.
Gacrux Needs Every Available Helldiver Right Now

The current situation of the Major Order sees the community split between two planets like amateur hour commanders. Crimsica and Gacrux both need defending, but splitting forces between them almost guarantees that both will fall. Time matters more than personal preference here:
Planet | Sector | Defense Progress | Time Left |
---|---|---|---|
Crimsica | Draco | 40% | 34 hours |
Gacrux | Jin Xi | 37% | 11 hours |
As of writing, Gacrux has eleven hours before the bugs overrun it completely. Crimsica gets thirty-four hours. Basic math suggests hitting the shorter deadline first, yet players keep avoiding Gacrux because swamp biomes are annoying and Rupture Strain bugs prove more challenging.
But are trees blocking your shots, and torrential rainstorms reducing visibility, really valid reasons to lose an entire planet to the enemy? A part of the community even managed to position the Democracy Space Station over Gacrux specifically to encourage focus there, yet only 26% of active players bothered showing up.
Meanwhile, 38% scattered across Crimsica, where there’s plenty of time to mount a proper defense later. This backward priority system explains why the current MO progress bar refuses to show any progress.
Why Every Failed Defense Will Make Things Worse for This Major Order

Whether Gacrux falls or holds, we can expect more attacks throughout the remaining campaign period. This week-long Major Order specifically calls for defending against seven separate Terminid assaults, meaning this is just round one of an extended siege scenario.
Each lost planet will become another stepping stone for the bugs to expand their operations. Basic galactic warfare means Terminids will use newly captured territory to strike deeper into Federation space, and failing these early defenses essentially hands enemies better positioning for future assaults.
Guys, Crimsica can wait I think…

So, whether you love swamp combat or hate Arrowhead‘s dense forest maps, personal preferences can’t override democracy’s need of the hour. The bugs are coming either way, and it is the focus of the Helldivers that will determine whether Super Earth holds the line or watches Federation space get overrun by angry insects with expansion plans.
