If you are anything like me, then you would have wasted no time in jumping straight onto Hollow Knight Silksong, and you might just now be realizing it’s a bit harder than its prequel. It also might just be about time you ran into Moorwing, one of the bosses of the game.
Found in Greymoore, this particular boss can be defeated easily with the help of the right loadout for Hornet, including the Sting Shard tool, which will make the best use of its AoE damage in this scenario.
How to Find Moorwing in Hollow Knight Silksong?

To reach Moorwing, if you haven’t discovered it naturally yet, travel to Greymoore, specifically to the bottom left corner of the location, just before the entrance to Bellhart.
This is where the boss fight will start. If you are not sure that you will be able to defeat him alone, you can even consider hiring Garmond and Zaza, two NPCs found in a room in the west Greymoore area. After talking to them once, they will be found once again just before the fight area, offering their help to you.
How to Beat Moorwing in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Pulling up to the fight with Moorwing, with or without the help of the two NPCs, you should make sure to bring with you the Sting Shard, the Reaper Crest, and the Silkspear ability to make quick work of the boss.
As I mentioned earlier, the Sting Shard is one of the best tools to use in this scenario, given that Moorwing will be absorbing most of the AoE damage that the said tool throws towards the enemy.
The player should also be wary of the boss’s drill attack, which it does after pulling back slightly, along with its AoE attacks, the first indication of which should be enough for you to make sure there is some distance between you and Moorwing before it executes it fully.
The best part about the boss fight with Moorwing is the fact that it’s entirely skippable if the player is actively engaged in the Lost Flies sidequest on the side. Have you successfully defeated Moorwing in Hollow Knight Silksong? Let us know about it in the comments below!
