Helluva Boss Season 3: Release Date Cast and Plot of the Special Episode

Helluva Boss has quickly grown from an indie YouTube sensation into one of the most talked-about animated series and is set to return with Helluva Boss Season 3 this September. Created by Vivienne ‘VivziePop’ Medrano, it has been praised for its sharp humor, chaotic action, and surprisingly heartfelt storytelling.

Following the success of its first two seasons, the series has officially been renewed for not only a third but also a fourth season, solidifying its future in Hell’s animated underworld.

It has struck a new deal with Amazon, and Season 3 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video following the debut of a special episode. The move marks a big step forward for Helluva Boss, and here is everything you need to know about Helluva Boss Season 3.

Helluva Boss Season 3: When Does It Premiere?

Though a third season of the animated series is confirmed, Helluva Boss Season 3 does not have a definite release date yet. Creator Vivienne Medrano announced on Bluesky that there will be a delay before fans see the next installments.

She explained, saying,

I want to say this now to let people enjoy this finale as the last big thing of the year, but yes, it will be quite a wait before season three.

Despite the wait, fans can look forward to the biggest season yet. Season 3 will feature 15 episodes, making it the longest installment of the animated series so far. In addition to YouTube, the new season will also stream on Prime Video, followed by a special episode titled Mission: Zero.

As part of this move, fans are being treated to an exclusive special episode titled Mission: Zero, which will debut only on Prime Video for a 45-day exclusivity window before landing on YouTube. Cast members Morgana Ignis and Richard Horvitz reflected on the new episode, calling it a “pilot redo” and the perfect starting point for newcomers.

Ignis told ScreenRant:

It is called Mission Zero, and it is a brand new episode that basically is a good jumping off point for people who have not seen the show before. Basically, it’s kind of a pilot redo

Horvitz further added,

[The original pilot] didn’t fit the canon of the show and what the show became. So this will kind of fix that

This special episode not only acts as a high-energy prequel to the series but also marks the first time Helluva Boss is released uncensored, complete with subtitles and multiple dubbing options.
