Helldivers 2 Ultimatum Guide – Stats, Traits & Best Tactics

Are you looking for a solid secondary weapon to bring managed democracy across the galaxy in Helldivers 2? Well, consider picking up the GP-31 Ultimatum! Think of it as the grenade pistol’s older sibling, packing enough firepower to delete every single heavy structure, hordes of enemies, and armored foes off the map in a matter of seconds. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about how to master the GP-31 Ultimatum in Helldivers 2.

The GP-31 Ultimatum’s Stats & Traits

The GP-31 Ultimatum acts like a precision explosive strike packed into your secondary slot in Helldivers 2. Each shot deals a massive punch, with 2000 explosive damage plus 1000 projectile damage that totals 3,000 damage. If that’s not enough, there’s also an additional 40 structural damage.

One of the best features about the GP-31 Ultimatum is that it’s flexible. You can reload it anytime without cooldowns, keep it stocked through ammo crates, supply packs, or whatever resupply option you have. With two powerful shots ready at a moment’s notice, this sidearm is more than capable of wiping out most of the threats in Helldivers 2, such as Signal Jammers, Shrieker Nests, and even Bile Titans.

Keep in mind that Ultimatum’s projectile is incredibly heavy. This means that it will drop much faster than most of the weapons in Helldivers 2

. If you fire it too close, there’s a high chance you’ll blow yourself up. With a kill radius of 12 metres and blast effects reaching up to 20 metres, you should fire it from at least 15 metres away.

How can you unlock the GP-31 Ultimatum? Well, it’s easily obtainable through the Servants of Freedom Warbond for just 40 medals. Don’t hesitate to invest in this sidearm, as it’s genuinely one of the most broken ones in the game despite the nerfs.

Now that you’re familiar with the basics of the GP-31 Ultimatum, it’s time to look at how you can get the most out of it against all three factions in Helldivers 2.

Terminids

When dealing with Terminids, anything from unarmored to light or even medium armored enemies will go down in a single shot. It doesn’t matter if they’re caught in the blast radius or a direct hit; they’re close enough, they’re finished.

Against Tougher enemies, like Bile Titans and Chargers, your aim will matter a lot. All Charger variants in the game need a direct impact, while Bile Titans can be taken out with a single hit.

For all the objectives, like Spore Towers, Shrieker Nests, and Purge Hatcheries, can be wiped out with a single blast from the weapon. It’s basically a delete button against anything that’s Terminid, and one of the most fun weapons to use.

Automatons

The GP-31 Ultimatum in Helldivers 2 makes short work of Automaton forces. It can wipe out unarmored, light armored, and even medium units like Striders, Devastators, Gunships, and Berserkers with ease. Most targets can be taken out with a single shot.

It’s also capable of one-shotting units like Hulks, Tanks, and Defense Towers when you directly land shots on them. However, it will take multiple hits for Factory Striders, but targeting their underbelly can speed up things.

On top of that, the Ultimatum can wreck nearly all Automaton objectives, including Command Bunkers, Fabricators, Airbases, and many more, with a single shot.

Illuminate

And finally, we have the Illuminates to tear down with the GP-31 Ultimatum. Just like all the other factions in the game, unarmored, light armored, and medium units are nuked instantly out of existence.

It can one-shot Harvesters once their shields have been taken down, and even wreck Warp Ships with a direct hit. However, it doesn’t work against certain Illuminate structures like the Cognitive Disrupter and the Monolith.
