“Harley cheating on the Joker”: Margot Robbie Confesses Her Crush on Robert Pattinson

Margot Robbie has opened up about her younger self’s crush on Robert Pattinson and her obsession with the Twilight films. Clearly, she was Team Edward.

Co-stars Robbie and Colin Farrell sat down with MTV to talk about their upcoming movie, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (Read FandomWire’s review here). During the conversation with Josh Horowitz, the topic shifted to movie posters, prompting Robbie to admit, “I’d never seen movie posters sold anywhere on the Gold Coast.

She went on to reveal that she shared her room with her brother until she was 16 years old, and was only able to put up her posters in half of the room. Robbie added, “They would have been whatever they had in DOLLY or Girlfriend Magazine, the two magazines for young tween girls in Australia.

The actress added that the magazines would include posters of Chris Hemsworth and Pattinson. When Horowitz asked if she was a Twilight fan, Robbie replied without missing a beat, “Of course I was. Of course I was. I was obsessed.”

Needless to say, Robbie’s confession opened the door to the obvious Batman memes as people joked about Harley Quinn having a crush on Bruce Wayne and cheating on the Joker. Take a look:

Harley cheating on the joker, crushing on batman

Harley Quinn had a crush on Bruce Wayne?!

That’s crazy

Image that I can’t get off my head now is Harley Quinn having Bruce Wayne posters in her room

Well, some jokes do write themselves. Now, all we need to do is get the DCU executives to cast Robbie in the next The Batman film and watch chaos erupt.

Margot Robbie Was Reportedly Robert Pattinson’s Dream Co-Star

Back in 2018, OK Magazine released a report claiming that Robert Pattinson was trying his best to get cast in Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The reason? His supposed dream co-star.

A source told the outlet, “Now that he’s moved back to LA full time, Rob is having a ball now that people are finally seeing him in Good Time his latest film. It might win him his grittiest film role yet, and his dream co-star Margot.”

They claimed that Pattinson had already met with Tarantino about the film and was “dying to work with Margot for a while.” The source went on to add that Pattinson and Robbie have had close calls in the past, but his ultimate dream is to “work with Margot under Quentin’s direction.

Whether the report was true or not, Pattinson was nowhere to be found in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Will Margot Robbie Return to the DCU as Harley Quinn?

Robbie, 35, and Pattinson, 39, might make a great pair on screen, and our only hope now is that someday, somehow, their DC characters run into each other. DCU boss James Gunn was recently asked if Robbie’s fan favorite Harley Quinn would have a place in his new and improved universe.

He told Entertainment Weekly, “That will be revealed down the line.” While this isn’t exactly the most reassuring answer, it’s definitely not a no. Different iterations of Harley may come and go, but there is something special about Robbie’s take on the character that makes her stand out.

As for the actress, she once grew tired of having to continuously film as Harley, and she doesn’t know if she will ever return to that path. She told EW in 2021, “It was kind of back-to-back filming Birds… and filming this, so I was kind of like, oof, I need a break from Harley because she’s exhausting. I don’t know when we’re next going to see her. I’m just as intrigued as everyone else is.

Robbie has played the lovable super-villain in Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey (2020), and The Suicide Squad (2021). Do you wish to see her reprise the role? Let us know in the comments section below!

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey will be released on 19 September. Rent/buy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on Prime Video, and Robbie’s DCEU films on HBO Max.
