Is Ronda Rousey one of the greatest women’s talents in WWE? Recently, Bleacher Report took the liberty of creating a list featuring the top 25 women’s wrestlers of all time, featuring the greatest talents. While Becky Lynch took over the #1 spot, the real backlash came from the fans, who were taken aback as they saw Rousey at the 11th spot. Check out the list below (via X):
Bleacher Report ranks the 25 Greatest Women’s Wrestlers in WWE history:
#1. Becky Lynch
#2. Charlotte Flair
#3. Trish Stratus
#4. Rhea Ripley
#5. Sasha Banks
#6. Bayley
#7. Bianca Belair
#8. Chyna
#9. Asuka
#10. Lita
#11. Ronda Rousey
#12. Paige
#13. IYO SKY
#14. The Bella Twins… pic.twitter.com/n8MxsKyt9k
The ranking was abysmal, as the former Women’s Champion was ranked above the likes of Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, Paige, The Bella Twins, and more. Clearly, the fans were not thrilled to see this, as they expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, tweeting how Rousey does not “deserve” to be on the list. Here’s what the fans have tweeted:

Rousey doesn't deserve to be on this list
– Asuka not even in Top 5!
– Ronda Rousey & Paige over Iyo Sky, AJ Lee, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler!
Yep, never ever let Bleacher Report inside the Kitchen! 😭pic.twitter.com/1TfSq02rQJ
Naomi not being on this list is the reason Bleacher Report needs to stick to sports they actually know about
Although Rousey has expressed her plans of not returning inside the squared circle anymore, fans can’t get over the fact that her brief period in the wrestling promotion brand was good enough to rank her above several WWE legends and active roster members.
Why Is Ronda Rousey’s WWE Stint Considered a Failure?
There’s no denying that Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names in WWE, who had made a name for herself even before she signed for the company in 2018. Right from her very first appearance at WrestleMania 31 to help her Fast & Furious co-star, The Rock, against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, the power couple of WWE.
It can’t be denied that she has exceptional fighting skills, making her a dominant personality inside the squared circle. However, WWE is more than just fighting, as it features well-scripted segments that lead to an ultimate showdown. Her promo lacks intensity, failing to get a reaction from fans, and she does not sell the moves of her opponents, which, in a way, makes her try to make herself look better than the rest.
And if that was not enough, WWE tried to overhype her presence, instantly pushing her for a title run. Check out the titles she has won in her WWE career (via Cagematch):
This rubbed the fans the wrong way because there were many names in the locker room who had been working hard to get a title shot. But she was one of the reasons women got an opportunity to main event WrestleMania for the first time in the history of WWE.
However, her final years in WWE were dull and horrible, and her promo skills regressed, making her one of the most boring superstars of all time. Thus, fans were not thrilled as she was facing Shayna Baszler at the 2023 SummerSlam.
Why Molly Holly Belongs on the List Over Ronda Rousey
Well, the answer is clear: Ronda Rousey does not belong on the list. But this brings up another question: Who deserves to replace her? Though this can be a hot topic of discussion because in WWE’s history, numerous women wrestlers have emerged and have uplifted their division in their own way.
Hence, we have chosen Molly Holly to be an ideal candidate to substitute for Rousey in that list. Holly is one of the most underrated names of the Ruthless Aggression Era, and in only a five-year run, she made a lasting impact on the fans.
The former Hardcore Champion was an outstanding heel and has been in heated rivalries against the likes of Trish Stratus, Victoria, Lita, and more, which have led to some memorable matches. She has also found herself winning a couple of titles, defeating the biggest names of her time. Check out the table below (via Cagematch):
Her reign as a champion was impressive, where she was a Women’s Champion for a total of 210 days, which rightfully earned her the spot to be a WWE Hall of Famer.
