The first movie of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy has been breaking box office records since its release, and the movie’s plot has created hype for the next installment. It has captivated audiences worldwide with its compelling characters and intense battles, and now fans are eagerly waiting for the second part, which will take the story further with bigger clashes featuring the Upper Moon and the members of the Demon Slayer Corps.
As the Demon Slayer manga has already ended long ago, the fate of the Upper Moon demons is already decided, and the narrative developments in the movie will most likely follow it. Thus, we can already speculate what will happen to the strongest demons from Muzan’s army by the end of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2.
5. Kaigaku – Deceased
Kaigaku’s transformation from a former Thunder Hashira trainee to Upper Rank Six was one of the biggest twists within the Demon Slayer storyline, and it was marked by ambition and a desire for power. In the first installment of the Infinity Castle trilogy, he faced Zenitsu Agatsuma, his former junior, and after an intense battle, he evidently lost, which marked the end of his journey.
Zenitsu developed the Seventh Form of Thunder Breathing, and his victory over Kaigaku marked a symbolic moment of growth and justice for the Demon Slayer character. Considering the fact that his story ended in the first movie, it is safe to assume that he won’t be a part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2.
4. Akaza – Deceased
Akaza was one of the most popular Upper Moon demons in Demon Slayer
Haunted by memories of his own past in the story, Akaza ultimately chose to end his own life, overwhelmed by the weight of his actions. This act of self-destruction was one of the biggest dramatic twists in the movie, and it more or less highlighted the complexity of Akaza’s character. As he killed himself in the first movie, he will also not be a part of the second Infinity Castle installment.
3. Doma – Battle Against Kanao
Doma, Upper Rank Two, is one of the most twisted demons known for his charismatic yet sadistic nature. In the first Infinity Castle movie, he faced Shinobu, the Insect Hashira. However, their battle resulted in Shinobu being killed and consumed by Doma, thus marking the death of another Hashira in Demon Slayer. However, the fight still continued as Kanao decided to take revenge on Doma for what he did to her sisters.
Kanao, driven by a deep sense of justice and the desire to avenge her sister’s death, engaged Doma in a fierce battle, but by the end of the first movie, she also took decent damage. Thus, the second Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movie will most likely continue their clash, but this time, she won’t be alone, as, according to the manga, Inosuke will help her take down Doma. Their fight will more or less conclude in the second movie.
2. Nakime – Battle Against Mitsuri and Obanai
Nakime is one of the most important Upper Moon demons in Demon Slayer’s Infinity Castle arc, as she has the power to control the shifting maze of the Infinity Castle, making her a unique and dangerous villain. In the first movie, she didn’t get much focus, but it is safe to assume that her development will be the highlight of the second Infinity Castle movie. According to the plot from the manga, she will face Mitsuri and Obanai.
While their clash will be interesting to watch, it most likely won’t end in the second movie. Nakime is the only Upper Moon demon that will remain after everyone’s defeat. Although her battle with Mitsuri and Obanai will be a significant clash, it will be extended till the third installment, and it will be joined by Yushiro, who will play a crucial role in the fight.
1. Kokushibo – Battle with the Remaining Members
Kokushibo is the strongest Upper Moon Demon within the Demon Slayer storyline. He was a part of the first Infinity Castle movie for a brief moment, and he will most likely take the center stage in the second one. According to the manga, Kokushibo will battle Gyomei, Sanemi, Genya, and Muichiro, the remaining members of the Demon Slayer Corps. However, his battle against them won’t end in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle part 2.
This fight is expected to extend into the third movie as it will explore Kokushibo’s immense abilities and tragic backstory. While he won’t be the last remaining Upper Moon demon, his battle will bring a major twist to the Demon Slayer finale. It will also set the stage for the final confrontation against Muzan, the main antagonist of the series.
Demon Slayer is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
