Every Peacemaker Season 2 Deaths Ranked Worst to Best

By George Johnson 10/14/2025

Peacemaker Season 2 doesn’t just go bigger, it goes absolutely feral. John Cena returns as the peace-loving antihero we love to root for (and laugh at) as the emotional stakes hit way harder this time. James Gunn turns the dial all the way up, mixing his signature chaos, killer soundtrack, and gut-punching storytelling into one wild ride.

Characters drop dead left and right, leaving viewers in shock. From alternate-reality chaos to brutal family reckonings, every loss leaves a mark on Cena’s Peacemaker and the twisted DC world he’s trying to survive in. So without further ado, let’s rank every major death in Peacemaker Season 2 from worst to best.

5. Agent Kline

In the Season 2 finale titled Full Nelson, Agent Kline meets a fate straight out of a horror movie. Played by Brandon Stanley, Kline is just doing his job as an A.R.G.U.S. operative when things go horribly sideways. He and the team enter a portal to a bizarre, imp-infested dimension, and it doesn’t take long for chaos to erupt.

The creatures attack without mercy, tearing through the agents, and Kline ends up fatally wounded with half of his face ripped off. It’s gruesome, shocking, and totally unrelenting.

While Kline wasn’t a major player, his death is a sharp reminder that in James Gunn’s world, even minor characters aren’t safe, and that interdimensional adventures carry real, terrifying stakes. It’s brutal, it’s chaotic, and it leaves you wondering who’s really coming home alive.

4. August Ransom “Auggie” Smith / Blue Dragon (Alternate Earth)

In Peacemaker Season 2, Earth‑2’s Auggie Smith, aka Blue Dragon, played by Robert Patrick, completely rewrites what we thought we knew about the Smith family. Unlike the abusive White Dragon on Earth‑1, this Auggie is the real deal: a hero standing up to the Nazis and guiding Chris and the team through the nightmare of Earth‑X.

But heroism doesn’t come cheap. Episode 7, Like a Keith in the Night, turns into bedlam when Vigilante, thinking Auggie is a threat, fatally stabs him. Chris is left shocked, Keith is heartbroken, and the audience feels it too because this Auggie wasn’t just a fighter; he was the dad Chris always wished he had.

Gunn himself called him a “good man,” which makes the loss hit even harder (via Threads).

Well, Auggie is generally a good human being who is opposed to what the Nazis are doing. But Keith (and Chris 2), well… I don’t know. Sometimes the apples fall very far from the tree – on both Earths!

3. Kaiju (Alternate Earth)

The kaiju from the Superman movie is back, wreaking havoc and bringing a different feel to the fight fans saw in the film a while back. In Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, Back to the Suture, the alternate Earth kaiju stomps into the city, and it is up to the Top Trio to stop the monster menace.

The crew of Chris, Captain Triumph, Blue Dragon, and, of course, Eagly aren’t about to let a monster run wild. Although it happens offscreen, the team must have banded together to finally take the creature down in a glorious fight.

The kaiju’s death isn’t just about brute force; it’s a reminder that in James Gunn’s world, even the biggest, meanest monsters can meet their match and that heroism sometimes comes in the most unexpected, wildly entertaining ways.

2. Red St. Wild

Red St. Wild, played by Michael Rooker, goes out in one of the wildest ways. Episode 5 puts him on a mission from A.R.G.U.S. to take out Eagly, Peacemaker’s legendary pet eagle. Red thinks he’s got it all planned, using a poisoned rat as bait, but nature has other ideas.

Still obsessed with hunting down Eagly, Red pushes forward, only to run straight into the bird, who reveals himself to be the Primal Eagle. As he sets a flock of eagles on Red, the hunter’s desperate pleas are no match for the fury of the sky as a squadron of eagles descends on him, ripping him apart in a brutal, ironic twist.

His death isn’t just shocking, it’s a perfect example of the chaos that comes from obsession, the unpredictable power of nature, and just how Peacemaker blends dark humor with high-stakes action.

1. Christopher Clyde “Chris” Smith / Peacemaker (Alternate Earth)

Season 2 of Peacemaker kicks off with a full-on reality-bender as John Cena’s Chris comes face-to-face with his Earth‑2 doppelgänger. What starts as a tense standoff in the Quantum Unfolding Chamber explodes into chaos when the alternate Chris accidentally rockets himself into a spike via the jetpack.

Chris is left cradling the body of a version of himself who had it all: a loving dad, a brother, and a life that, in some ways, outshines his own. Scavenging his alternate self’s phone only deepens the sting, showing glimpses of moments and connections Chris can never have.

This isn’t just a shocking kill; it slams the season wide open, forcing Peacemaker to wrestle with identity, loss, and the haunting truth that even in another world, no one escapes tragedy.

Peacemaker Season 2 doesn’t just kill for shock; it throws the multiverse into chaos. From alternate-Chris getting taken out to Red St. Wild’s brutal end, the monstrous Kaiju, and Kline’s grisly fate, every death hits hard and shakes the story to its core. These deaths aren’t just shock value; they shape Chris, shake the multiverse, and leave fans questioning who will survive the madness next.
