Every Member of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece, Ranked Weakest to Strongest

The recent One Piece chapters have put a special focus on Rocks D. Xebec and his insanely powerful crew. As fans know, the Rocks Pirates were legends who ruled the sea during the old pirate era until they got separated during the God Valley Incident. However, even after being disbanded, the members of the Rocks Pirates went on their individual journeys and made a name for themselves.

One Piece characters like Kaido, Big Mom, Whitebeard, etc., were all part of the Rocks Pirates and thus, the power dynamic between the crew was chaotic yet overwhelmingly formidable. To give a proper understanding of the power levels of every member of the Rocks Pirates, here is a ranked list from the weakest member of the crew to the strongest.

15. Streusen

Streusen is best known in One Piece as Big Mom’s longtime executive chef and co-founder of the Big Mom Pirates. Streusen is a non-combat character from the story, and since the beginning, he has preferred staying away from battle. However, that doesn’t mean that he was not strong. Being a part of the Rocks Pirates was enough to prove that he had some kind of strength.

However, in terms of pure fighting capabilities, Streusen ranks the lowest because even though he was able to survive among the Rocks Pirates, he was not on the same level as the others. Although he has a Devil Fruit, we don’t know if he ate it before joining the crew or after the Big Mom Pirates were formed.

14. Buckingham Stussy

Buckingham Stussy was another non-combatant member of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece, but she was incredibly smart. The story revealed that she was one of the first pirates handpicked by Rocks to join him before the crew had been officially formed. She survived within the crew mainly because of her scientific knowledge and her unique abilities, which have not been revealed in the story yet.

The only details confirmed about her power are that she didn’t possess any Devil Fruit or Haki in the story; however, it is heavily emphasized that she was in love with Whitebeard. This is why she ranks so low despite being one of the most intelligent minds in One Piece. Maybe the story will focus more on her powers in the future.

13. Gill Bastar

Gill Bastar was created by Eiichiro Oda long before One Piece came out. He was the main character of his one-shot manga Wanted! and was later added to the Rocks Pirate crew. Not only that, he was also turned into a zombie general by Gecko Moria, which gives decent insight into his strength and power as a One Piece character.

Bastar was a proficient marksman as he wielded a revolver pistol and was very skilled with it. Some One Piece databook references suggest that he was a feared character and may have had abilities that made him stand out even within the Rocks Pirate crew. However, that doesn’t mean that he was str onger than some of the heavy hitters like Whitebeard and Shiki.

12. Gloriosa

Gloriosa (Elder Nyon) is explicitly referenced as a former member of the Rocks Pirates and later became an influential Kuja elder with ties to Boa Hancock and the Amazon Lily island. Not only that, she was also one of the captains of the Kuja Pirates, which in itself speaks for her powers and abilities in One Piece.

The reason Gloriosa is placed so low is that the only confirmed power that she possesses, according to the story, is Haki. She was indeed quite powerful as she managed to land a kick on Luffy in spite of being an elderly figure. However, she was nowhere near the strongest member of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece.

11. Barbel

Barbel is a massive catfish Fish-Man who was a part of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece. While the story has not revealed much about his power and his abilities, it is safe to assume that he was incredibly powerful, considering the fact that, as a Fish-Man, he was ten times more powerful than an average human and was also a proficient swimmer.

His massive size suggests that he had a lot of strength, but because the story has not yet revealed much about him, it doesn’t make sense to rank him higher. Hopefully, we will find out more about him as the Rocks D. Xebec flashback gets more development in the One Piece manga.

10. John

Captain John, who later became known for his treasure and independent exploits, was a former Rocks member. He later led his own crew and amassed legendary riches that became a significant part of the plot, especially for Buggy. In terms of strength, John was quite powerful as he carried two swords, one on each side of his waist.

Not only that, John was also transformed into a Zombie general by Gecko Moria, which suggests that he was powerful. The only reason why John is placed so low is that after amassing a huge treasure, John decided to keep it all for himself, and thus was killed by his own crew. This suggests that he was not a powerful leader, and his crew easily overwhelmed him.

9. Ochoku

Ochoku served in Rocks’ crew and later rose to become ruler of Hachinosu until Blackbeard toppled him. While initially it was believed that his rule came from power, the One Piece story recently revealed that he betrayed the Rocks Pirates and used trickery to take control over Hachinosu, which does not make him look good in terms of strength.

Still, the fact that Sengoku mentioned him as a noteworthy pirate together with Shiki, Captain John, and Kyo suggests that he was somewhat powerful. Although he is no longer part of the story, there is a possibility that the ongoing Rocks flashback might give us details about his betrayal and his rise as the new ruler of Hachinosu.

8. Marlon

Marlon is one of the least focused members of the Rocks’ crew, as he was killed during the World Government’s abduction of Shakuyaku. He joined the Rocks Pirates after losing a Davy Back fight to Rocks D. Xebec, but it is said that he was one of the most powerful members of the crew. The reason behind this is the fact that Marlon had a prior reputation as a crime boss from his home sea.

Marlon’s strength can also be defined by his marksmanship as he wielded a big rifle and was able to shoot multiple people at the same time. He traveled with Rocks’ crew for 11 years and never got injured, thus adding more substance to his strength as a member of Rocks Pirates in One Piece.

7. Ganzui

The One Piece story has not yet revealed much about Ganzui, but his strength can be assumed from the fact that, just like Captain John and Bastar, he was also turned into a Zombie General by Gecko Moria. Also, his massive build suggests that he was a powerful individual who sailed with the Rocks Pirates for a long time.

The only reason Ganzui is placed so high up in the rankings is the fact that he did not get along with the rest of the Rocks Pirates and still managed to survive among them for so long. Hopefully, the ongoing Xebec flashback will give a display of his strength, especially during the God Valley Incident, which has just begun in the manga.

6. Kyo

In terms of strength, Kyo was considered to be one of the most powerful members of Rocks’ crew in One Piece. His strength is reflected in the fact that he became a rival of Shiki, the Golden Lion. The One Piece manga has focused on some of his feats, and all of them prove that his strength was on a completely different level.

From surviving a blast to thrashing his opponents with his axe, Kyo was truly one of the powerhouses of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece. His origins or his past have not been revealed in the series, but the one thing that makes his character interesting is the fact that he joined the Rocks Pirates on his own accord.

5. Shiki

Shiki the Golden Lion is one of the strongest Rocks members who later turned into a notorious captain in his own right. He became famous for defying the Marines as he became the first prisoner to have ever escaped from Impel Down. Shiki’s strength is reflected in the fact that he had many rivals, including Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King of One Piece.

His rankings among the top five members of the Rocks Pirates are justified because of his incredibly powerful Devil Fruit powers and his swordsmanship. While he couldn’t reach the level of power as Kaido, Big Mom, or Whitebeard, he still managed to make a big name for himself as a dangerous pirate.

4. Kaido

Kaido’s strength and power need no introduction. One Piece fans saw the display of his power during the Wano arc, but at the time when he was a member of the Rocks Pirates, he was not as powerful as others. The reason behind this is the fact that he did not possess his Devil Fruit at the time, which is why he is not placed among the top three.

When compared to the other members of the Rocks Pirates, Kaido certainly ranks way higher, but at the time, he didn’t have his title of the Strongest Creature in the One Piece world. Thus, even though he was a One Piece powerhouse, he couldn’t grab a position among the top three spots in the rankings.

3. Big Mom

Big Mom’s rise to power began after she left the Rocks Pirates following the God Valley Incident. However, she was still considered to be one of the strongest members within the crew because of her Devil Fruit and her incredible strength. To this day, she is considered to be one of the strongest female members in One Piece.

Big Mom’s ranking among the top three is justified by the fact that she used to mentor Kaido when they were a part of the Rocks crew. Not only that, it was later revealed that she was the one who gave Kaido his Devil Fruit during the God Valley Incident.

2. Whitebeard

Edward Newgate, also known as Whitebeard, was universally recognized as the Stongest Man in the One Piece world. His tremors shook the Marine headquarters and started one of the greatest wars in the history of One Piece. He was also a rival of Gol D. Roger, and his strength was closest to that of Rocks D. Xebec in the crew.

This is why he is placed second in the list. Even at the time, there were very few characters who could match his power, which is certainly a major feat in itself. Although he was killed during the Marineford war, his strength is still recognized by the strongest One Piece characters.

1. Rocks D. Xebec

The Captain of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece, Rocks D. Xebec, was deemed the strongest pirate of the old era. He fought the most dangerous pirates of his time and forced them to become members of his crew. Not only that, he even had the guts to challenge the Supreme Leader of the World Government, Imu, which is a feat in itself.

Xebec’s legacy has remained intact for forty years, and even though pirates admire him and want to be like him. It evidently took the combined power of Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp to take him down, and his achievements justify his role as the captain of one of the strongest pirate crews in One Piece history.
