Every Major God Valley Character in One Piece, Ranked Least to Most Powerful

Spoiler Alert !!!
Heavy spoilers for the Elbaph Arc of One Piece!

The truth behind the God Valley Incident is slowly but surely unraveling itself in the latest chapters of One Piece. We know the basic details, such as the Native Hunting Competition taking place and Garp and Roger defeating Rocks, but now we’ve discovered more information.

As of Chapter 1159, more players have entered the God Valley Incident, and it’s up to us to rank the major One Piece characters, from least powerful to the most. Some of them are our speculation of their strength from 38 years ago, but they might be more powerful in the present. So, let’s dive into the list.

13. Monkey D. Dragon

Dragon, as a character, is one of the biggest mysteries in One Piece. He’s the World’s Worst Criminal, commands the Revolutionary Army, and is speculated to possess a powerful Devil Fruit. However, his appearances have been sporadic.

In Chapter 1159, it’s revealed that Dragon was at God Valley, but as a rookie Marine. He was around Luffy’s age. As expected of him, he was unwilling to use violence against the citizens. However, according to the hints about Chapter 1160 provided by @WorstGenHQ, he might do one of the bravest feats in One Piece. Still, he might be the weakest of all the major characters involved.

12. Shepherd Sommers

Shepherd Sommers is a God’s Knight and has always been one, even 38 years ago during the God Valley Incident. We discover that he participated in the Native Hunting Competition in Chapter 1159 and argued with Figarland Garling over who would win Shakuyaku.

Sommers was only just introduced to One Piece, so we don’t have enough information about his strength. His Devil Fruit and rapid healing are rather annoying, but that’s it. He recognized and was terrified of Scopper Gaban, hinting that something went down at God Valley, since we know the Roger Pirate was there. Thus, he couldn’t have been that strong.

11. Kaido

It might be a surprise that we put the Strongest Creature at such a low rank, but that’s Kaido in the present, not 38 years ago. He was only 21 years old and had just received the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryuu from Big Mom during the God Valley Incident. Many other characters who were present at God Valley were far stronger.

That’s not to say Kaido wasn’t strong either. He was the strongest soldier in the Vodka Kingdom at 10 years old, and when he was sold to the Marines, he managed to escape the ship that carried him. His strength was impressive enough for Rocks to invite him, although he was only 15 years old.

10. Shiki

The legendary pirate was there as a member of the Rocks Pirates. Shiki was one of the people foolishly in love with Shakuyaku and was angered by her kidnapping. It explains why he was so impatient to fight anyone who stood in his way in Chapter 1096.

However, other than from One Piece Film: Strong World, there’s little we know about him. Thus, until further information, he remains near the bottom.

9. Gunko

Gunko is another God’s Knight that was recently introduced and made a surprise appearance at God Valley in Chapter 1159. She participated in the Native Hunting Competition as a member of the Manmayer Family, and her relative seemed confident they’d win, solely because of Gunko.

In the present, Gunko is fairly strong, due to her Aro Aro no Mi and regenerative powers. However, there isn’t much to say about her strength in the past. Considering she would mostly be killing helpless citizens, it’s safe to say she isn’t the most powerful character in the God Valley Incident.

8. Big Mom

We’ve seen plenty of Big Mom’s power during the Whole Cake Island and Wano Arcs of One Piece. She’s terrifying and destructive, even at 68 years old. As a 5-year-old, she was powerful enough to destroy a village in Elbaph and kill Jorul.

During the God Valley Incident, Big Mom was in her prime. She fought against Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp, and even successfully stole the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryuu. However, other characters proved to be stronger than her.

7. Figarland Garling

Shanks’ biological father only gets worse the more he appears in One Piece. Being a Celestial Dragon and one of the Five Elders was vile enough, but his actions at God Valley solidified it. He chose it as the location for the Native Hunting Competition, even though the mother of his children resided there and wanted him to stay.

Figarland Garling showed far more ruthlessness and bloodthirst than the others, killing the King of God Valley before the event began. He was adamant about winning Shakuyaku and forcing her to become his wife. This itself is rather terrifying. Once again, however, going after innocent civilians isn’t a great display of power. Thus, he’s strong, but not that strong.

6. Scopper Gaban

Scopper Gaban was the Left Hand of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and an equal to him and Silvers Rayleigh. He earned the title “Mountain Eater” after defeating an enemy pirate crew with nothing but two axes, cutting down all the trees in the process. His raw physical strength isn’t to be underestimated.

Gaban was at God Valley during his prime and had a lot of experience. He fought against powerful enemies daily and is alive to tell the tale. As mentioned previously, Sommers is terrified of him. So, while he is incredibly strong in the present, he had to be much more powerful in the past.

5. Silvers Rayleigh

The first mate of Gol D. Roger and the Dark King himself had to be in the Top 5. Silvers Rayleigh is plenty powerful in the present, as Shakuyaku commented that he was 100 times stronger than all the Supernovas combined. Even Blackbeard himself was terrified of him.

Thus, Rayleigh had to be a beast when he was younger. He’s regarded as one of the strongest pirates in One Piece’s history. He was on par with Gol D. Roger and Gaban, going toe-to-toe with the Rocks Pirates. Thus, he had to be one of the strongest major characters.

4. Whitebeard

Since it’s confirmed in Chapter 1157 that Whitebeard had the Gura Gura no Mi before God Valley, he’s easily one of the strongest major characters. He destroyed an entire island, Foot Colony, and was the rival of great pirates, such as Gol D. Roger and Kozuki Oden.

We’ve seen how Whitebeard fought while terminally ill and heavily injured, so imagine him during his prime. There’s no debating his place in the hierarchy.

3. Monkey D. Garp

The Hero of the Marines speaks for himself. Monkey D. Garp was key to taking down Rocks D. Xebec, and his strength rivals Roger’s and other Emperors of the Sea. He doesn’t even need weapons to aid him; he goes in with just his fists.

At God Valley, Garp went head-to-head with Rocks himself, albeit with Roger’s help. His Haki is amongst the most destructive and powerful in One Piece. He was also in his prime, so this secures his spot in the Top 3.

2. Gol D. Roger

Roger is the Pirate King, who remained undefeatable for years. His Haki is also legendary and assumed to be the strongest, possessing advanced Armament Haki and mastery over Conqueror’s Haki. He didn’t have a Devil Fruit, and yet he could fight Whitebeard, Rocks, and other legendary figures.

Let’s also not forget that Gol D. Roger had a terminal illness and still fought Whitebeard for three days straight. Kaido considers him one of the strongest figures in history. Thus, the Pirate King had to be the second strongest at God Valley, and there’s only one character holding him back.

1. Rocks D. Xebec

We’ve come to the star of the God Valley Incident: Rocks D. Xebec. It took the combined efforts of the Roger Pirates and Monkey D. Garp to defeat him. Thus, his Haki had to be stronger than theirs. He was deemed a bigger threat than Roger and the Revolutionary Army in his era.

In the latest chapters, One Piece has exposed just how dangerous Rocks can be. He killed an Admiral, directly threatened Imu, kidnapped five Kings, clashed with Harald several times, and destroyed a Gate of Justice. Therefore, without a doubt, Rocks D. Xebec was the strongest character at God Valley.
