Every Demon Slayer Character Worthy of a Spinoff, Ranked Least to Most Deserving

By Brian Jackson 10/17/2025

Demon Slayer has plenty of characters with unique journeys that can fuel their spinoffs. These characters have tragic backstories, immense potential, and struggles that not many have heard of. Of course, some of the characters stand out more than others.

Thus, 10 of the most interesting and underrated characters from the popular anime/manga have been compiled, consisting of those who deserve their own spinoff manga or anime. The characters have been ranked from least to most deserving of a spinoff, and their narrative depth, backstories, and struggles as individuals have been considered.

10. Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro, the Mist Hashira, is an aloof individual, and his gradual rediscovery of emotions makes him a compelling case for a spinoff. He and his brother were orphaned at a young age, and the two had to struggle to survive. Fans might be eager to know more about his past and his bond with Yuichiro.

A spinoff could also explore how he fuelled his training with his boiling rage against demons and show his gradual change in character.

9. Kokushibo

Kokushibo, the Upper Rank One demon, was a human around 500 years ago and was a former Demon Slayer. In fact, he was the strongest Demon Slayer to ever live. However, he was driven by jealousy, fear of death, and desire for power, because of which he joined the twelve Kizuki.

His internal conflict can be chronicled along with his human life and his descent into becoming a demon in a new spinoff.

8. Inosuke Hashibara

Inosuke‘s story deserves more attention in Demon Slayer. His origin as a man raised by boars is extremely interesting. While the main story showed how his mother was devoured by Doma and he was left abandoned, it did not show how he became so powerful.

A Tarzan-like spinoff for Inosuke might be well received by fans, who want to know how he survived amongst wild animals as a defenseless kid and how he became so powerful.

7. Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu might have begun as a cowardly comic relief character, but towards the end of Demon Slayer

, his character took a complete 180-degree turn. He was shown as a timid guy who awakens dangerous powers within him whenever he passes out during intense moments.

Thus, a spinoff concentrating on this lovely, goofy guy and his transformations and side quests might be interesting to watch.

6. Doma

Doma, the Upper Rank Two, was one of the biggest villains in Demon Slayer. He was also the leader of a cult, and he would pretend to understand his followers’ troubles but later devour them. He is a cunning demon and a manipulative one as well.

Being a dark and twisted character, a Doma spinoff could certainly attract a lot of fans to the series. His position as a cult leader and how he would manipulate his followers might be an interesting tale.

5. Muzan Kibutsuji

Muzan, the main antagonist of Demon Slayer, has an interesting origin. He suffered from a terminal illness, and an experimental medicine turned him into a demon. As the primary villain, his backstory as well as his journey as a demon deserve more attention.

Thus, an ultimate villain spinoff might be a good idea for Muzan. His seemingly endless conflict as a demon could add more layers to the character.

4. Sakonji Urokodaki

Urokodaki might be a minor character, but he has greatly impacted the series. He used to hold the Water Hashira position and cultivates the Water Breathing style. He also trained Makomo, Giyu, Tanjiro, and Sabito. He always showed dedication as a teacher and made sure that his students would be indomitable.

Urokodaki’s life as a cultivator of the Water Breathing style would be an amazing watch as a spin-off series. His personal conquests, as well as an arc focusing on his battles, would be lovely.

3. Akaza

Akaza, the Upper Rank Three, has to be one of the most interesting Demon Slayer characters. His life was tragic, and he became a prodigious martial artist as a human. However, the people he valued the most were taken away from him, causing him to go berserk.

A spinoff about Akaza could explore more about his tragic backstory, as well as how he climbed the ranks under Muzan Kibutsuji. The key moments of his huge lifespan could be recorded, and his opposing journey as a human and demon can be highlighted.

2. Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Yoriichi was a demon slayer who lived around 500 years ago and was one of the most powerful ones. He was also the progenitor of Breathing Styles and created Sun Breathing. He is also the brother of Kokushibo, back when he was a human. His wife and unborn child had been killed by a demon, which caused him to train as a Demon Slayer.

Yoriichi and his brother’s tale is extremely intriguing. It began just like any other wholesome brotherly story, but when Kokushibo decided to become a demon, it crumpled. Yoriichi’s relationship with his brother is an emotional one, filled with ups and downs. Thus, a spinoff on this legendary demon slayer and his conquests and personal life would be a huge hit.

1. Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Kagaya was the 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. He accumulated the trust of all the Demon Slayers and is the one who united them. Kagaya is an underrated character, and his journey as the leader of the corps needs more attention. He is both lenient and strict when necessary.

A spinoff about his flashbacks to when he met each of the Demon Slayers and gained their trust would be a moving watch. It could focus on his marriage, his losses, and how he had everything planned.

Bonus Feature: Butterfly Mansion Girls

Kanae Kocho, Shinobu Kocho, and Kanao Tsuyuri lived in the Butterfly Mansion. A spinoff focusing on the Kocho sisters and the adopted Kanao might turn out to be a heartwarming tale. The Kocho sisters had a content life till their parents were slaughtered before their very eyes.

The two became Demon Slayers and rescued Kanae from her fate of becoming a slave. Both the Kocho sisters did their best to make Kanae feel at home.

Here is a table with ratings of Demon Slayer:

Each of the characters mentioned in this ranking has the potential to offer a completely new perspective. Whether it is a comic adventure, a slice of life tale, or a struggle for power, the potential is endless.
