In One Piece, Kaido is renowned as the world’s Strongest Creature. The defeat of Kaido in the Wano arc was only because of a joint effort by numerous characters, which means it can be difficult for a single One Piece admiral to beat the beast of a character.
Not only does Kaido have advanced Haki of all forms, but he also possesses a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, which can turn him into a dragon. In theory, none of the admirals might be able to defeat Kaido alone; still, it might be fun to see who could come the closest to the feat. This list has ranked the admirals from the least probability of defeating Kaido to those who might come the closest to the goal.
8. Zephyr
Zephyr is a non-canon character since he debuted as the main antagonist in One Piece Film: Z. He used to be one of the most powerful Marines of his generation alongside Garp, Snegoku, and Tsuru; however, he was defeated by Luffy. He retired at the age of 4,1, and the years have taken a toll on him. He even admitted that he had grown old and weak after being defeated by Luffy. Needless to say, Zephyr does not stand a chance against a monster like Kaido.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido
7. Fujitora (Issho)
Fujitora uses the Zushi Zushi no Mi Devil Fruit and can control gravitational forces because of it. He was promoted to Admiral after Sakazuki became Fleet Admiral, and Kuzan subsequently resigned. Despite being blind, he is a powerful combatant and has acute senses coupled with Haki. He can not only increase or decrease gravity around him, but also decide the direction of the gravitational force.
However, Kaido has an aerial advantage, which might skew Fujitora’s senses. Kaido can easily dodge the projectiles thrown at him and land a deadly hit. Fujitora has no chance to win against the likes of Kaido.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido
6. Ryokugyu (Aramaki)
Ryokugyu’s Mori Mori no Mi abilities help him control, create, and transform himself into Plant Life. He is resilient, just like his plants, and can create massive plant life to entangle his enemies and subdue them. He can also unleash large-scale attacks on his enemies and is a Haki user.
Unfortunately, his body isn’t intangible, since plants are tangible objects. Thus, he can actually take hits, unlike Sakazuki or Kizaru, who can just transform their bodies into magma or light. Kaido can easily blast through the plants with sheer force. He would also lose to Kaido’s ungodly endurance.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido
5. Sengoku
Sengoku uses the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu, which allows him to transform into a giant golden Buddha statue. He can create shockwaves in this form that can even take on the Gura Gura no Mi’s shockwaves. His Conqueror’s Haki might also give Kaido’s Haki usage a run for its money.
Sengoku’s sheer size of transformation might help him in a battle against Kaido’s dragon form. However, he is past his prime, and although he is still a powerful adversary, Kaido is on a completely different level. Kaido’s physical prowess, coupled with his Devil Fruit powers and Haki usage, will overwhelm Sengoku.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido
4. Kizaru (Borsalino)
Kizaru might be a strong adversary for the Straw Hats, but not as much for Kaido, especially if he has to face the beast all alone. Kizaru’s biggest advantage is how he can move at the Speed of Light due to his Devil Fruit, Pika Pika no Mi. He could even take on Whitebeard with his strength and use a sword made of pure light. He can also shoot powerful lasers at his enemy.
Kizaru might be able to bamboozle Kaido with his clones and speed for a bit since he could even stall Gear 5 Luffy, but ultimately, Kaido would win because of his endurance and attack power. Kaido might even find a way to hit Kizaru despite his untouchable Logia form.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido, but might be able to stall him.
3. Kong
Kong is currently the Commander in Chief for the World Government and used to be a Fleet Admiral. Since not much is known about all of his capabilities, he can’t be properly judged against Kaido. At the same time, he is definitely more powerful than the other Admirals since he stands above them in ranking. His unknown skills are the reason he cannot be placed at the top at the moment.
Kong is physically very powerful, and the author might be reserving him for a later match. At the same time, Kong might not be able to stand against Kaido’s endurance and powers. He might be able to exhaust Kaido to some degree, but not defeat him completely.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido, but will provide a tough match.
2. Aokiji (Kuzan)
Kuzan used to be an Admiral and was a powerful one before he defected. In fact, he had a huge battle against Akainu and lost by an inch. The battle took place in Punk Hazard for ten straight days, and as a result, half of the island became an icy land of blizzards and snow. Kuzan is a user of Hie Hie no Mi, which means he can create, control, or transform himself into ice.
His powers can freeze seas and even alter the climates of entire islands. He can also use Haki. His battle at Punk Hazard is a testament to his endurance. His powers will be the complete opposite of Kaido’s since the latter uses flames and fire blasts. However, Kaido’s heat might be able to melt Kuzan’s ice and outlast Kuzan.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido, but it will be a close call.
1. Akainu (Sakazuki)
Finally, Akainu is the strongest of the Admirals in One Piece at the moment. He uses the Magu Magu no Mi, which helps him create, control, and transform himself into magma. He can even block earthquakes with sheer raw power. He not only faced Whitebeard but also altered half of Punk Hazard into a burning inferno. Even Blackbeard was scared of him.
Akainu’s Magma might be dangerous and has the upper hand on Kaido’s flames. Yet, overall, Kaido is the one with better endurance. Akainu is the one who will be able to push Kaido the most.
Status: Cannot defeat Kaido, but is the closest matchup amongst the Admirals.
