A24 has recently released yet another trailer for its upcoming fantasy romantic comedy Eternity, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. This new trailer gives a deeper look into the movie’s emotional and magical world, where love, loss, and choices follow through the afterlife.

The film sets the premise for souls to decide where to spend their eternity after their death. Therefore, the plot for Eternity follows Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) as she faces an impossible decision between two great loves: her husband Larry (Miles Teller), and her first love Luke (Callum Turner), who died young and has been waiting for her ever since.

Meanwhile, this new trailer expanded on what fans saw in the first preview, revealing more of the emotional tension and humor that define the story. It opens with Joan arguing with Larry, telling him, “You died. I died. I-I-I’ve just been reunited with both of my dead husbands”. Soon, the tense scene cuts to a much more romantic interaction between Joan and Luke.

This is where the new trailer sets the difference between Larry and Luke, making it the heart of the film’s journey. And through this difference, Joan must choose between the past and the present, and decide whether to be in the comfort of a long marriage or experience the pull of a lost love. And guess what? Joan’s journey, directed by David Freyne, won’t be easy.

And so, together, that’s what made the film one of A24’s most charming upcoming releases.

Elizabeth Olsen Opened Up About Her Beautiful Experience Filming Eternity

Reflecting on her journey of making this movie about magic realism, Olsen said that reading the script for the first time felt like discovering something timeless, a story that could have been made in any era.

That’s when the movie evolved from being just another fantasy rom-com to a deeply emotional project that explores love, grief, and the hard choices, even in the afterlife, for Elizabeth Olsen. Further, discussing the film, the actress described it as a “beautiful experience”. She even claimed to be grateful to be a part of the film and its team.

I’m really excited. This film has been such a beautiful experience and to me reading the script for the first time felt like a movie that needed to be made and could have been made in any generation. And I’m really grateful that we get it premiered here.

In Eternity, Olsen plays Joan, a woman who dies and finds herself in a place where souls must decide where to spend eternity.
