Everything You Should Know About Dying Light: The Beast Co-Op
Techland is bringing co-op to Dying Light: The Beast with support for handling four players in a single session. The feature operates in the same manner as the previous Dying Light game; just invite your friends, and you’ll be able to enjoy the game through shared progression.
This means you’ll all play as Kyle Crane and use the beast powers and parkour around. The only caveat is that the one who hosts the game will show their customised character. Nonetheless, all the actions and consequences will remain shareable for all joining players.
Is There a Crossplay Option for Dying Light: The Beast?
Crossplay is not a feature available with Dying Light: The Beast. Even though the feature has been popularised recently, it isn’t available. On a brighter note, the game is supported on both current-gen and last-gen consoles. So if you have a friend with a PlayStation 4, they can queue with PlayStation 4 folks.
As of now, Techland hasn’t shared any plans to allow crossplay, but they’ve shared that they’ll constantly optimize PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions after release. Furthermore, this game is technically a next-gen experience. Thus, Techland has also shared that they’ve prioritized development for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X versions.
While fans continue to request crossplay, the feature requires complex coordination with console manufacturers and agreements to ensure a smooth multiplayer experience. At its core, Dying Light: The Beast is still meant to be a single-player game, with co-op added simply because it enhances the fun with friends. Does Dying Light: The Beast Support Cross-Progression?
Dying Light: The Beast doesn’t have a cross-progression system, but it does feature a shared-progression system. So, if you had plans to play the game on PC and later continue where you left off on PlayStation, that’s not possible.
However, if you play through Steam or Epic Games, your saves can be accessed from other hardware on the same platform ecosystem. If you have a PC in your bedroom and want to continue on the big screen in the living room, that option is present.
Alternatively, if you’re playing on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, your save can be carried over to the current-gen consoles as well. While progression doesn’t support cross-platform, the functionality works pretty well in the same platform ecosystem.
