Does Roman Reigns Have Arthritis: Concerning Details About His Health

By David Rodriguez 10/13/2025

Roman Reigns has been a dominant force in the WWE for some time now. However, there has been a concerning update on him following his Australian Street Fight clash against Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel 2025.

An Italian fan, Angicer, recently posted a photo with Roman Reigns on his X account in which he claimed that Reigns looked exhausted even before his match at Crown Jewel 2025, and there were days when he struggled to get out of bed.

The photo is from yesterday before Crown Jewel and Roman already looked very tired.. let's remember that he said he suffers from arthritis which is brutal for an athlete and there are days when he struggles to get out of bed (also said by Mark Henry). Only respect 🙏 #romanreigns pic.twitter.com/5OypS1Nv6D

The social media post has stirred concerns around Roman Reigns’ health and the struggles he has to endure as a result of his Leukemia treatment.

What Did Mark Henry Say About Roman Reigns’s Arthritis?

Apparently, this is not the first time that it has been revealed that Roman Reigns suffers from Arthritis. WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has also talked about the physical discomfort Reigns has to suffer because of Arthritis.

During an interview with The Undertaker on the Six Feet Under Podcast in August 2024, Henry talked in detail about Reigns. The World’s Strongest Man shared:

People talk about Roman Reigns, people forget that he has leukemia. For him to do what he is doing, I heard, there are days, where he don’t feel like getting up and working out. For him to look like he did at Mania with leukemia. I think that, as a level of toughness and greatness, and how much he had elevated the guys for 3 years.

Even though Roman Reigns accepted the challenge from Bronson Reed during the October 6, 2025, edition of Monday Night RAW (via WWE), he was not in the best physical shape. During a conversation with Pat McAfee, he mentioned the various issues he had to endure before Crown Jewel 2025.

I feel like crap. My body does not feel good. I was down there [in Australia to film Street Fighter] not too long ago. The flight back and forth has not been nice. I’ve been jet-lagged for, I feel like, four weeks in a row now. So why not just go down there and try to kill myself? It is what it is.

As expected in such a situation, the match against Bronson Reed did not turn out in his favor. Even though Roman Reigns tried his best to outperform the power-packed enforcer of ‘The Vision’, a last-minute disaster by Reigns’s cousin Jey Uso turned the odds against the original tribal chief.

Roman Reigns’ Long and Hard-Fought Battle With Leukemia

While pursuing a career in professional football, Roman Reigns was first diagnosed at the age of 22 with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), a rare form of blood cancer. Doctors eventually discovered dangerously high white blood cell counts as a result of his symptoms, which included extreme fatigue and an enlarged spleen.

After undergoing treatment and achieving remission, Reigns shifted his focus to professional wrestling, where he quickly rose to become one of WWE’s biggest stars. However, during the October 22, 2018, edition of Monday Night RAW (via WWE), he revealed that his Leukemia had returned after 11 years.

He stepped away from the ring and relinquished the WWE Universal Championship to begin treatment once again. Remarkably, just four months later, on February 25, 2019, Reigns returned to RAW to announce that his leukemia was once again in remission, a moment that drew immense support from fans and fellow wrestlers alike.

While he remains in remission, Reigns continues to manage his health through long-term oral chemotherapy and has made changes to his wrestling schedule to prioritize his well-being, including taking time off during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect his immune system.

The fallout effects on Reigns’s body as a result of his continued battle with Leukemia are immense. The OTC underwent a facial transformation to maintain a picture-perfect smile on WWE programming. The continued Arthritis pain is also a by-product of the extensive treatment.
