Crew Girl Filming Location: Where Is the We Were Liars Netflix Version Shooting?

Netflix has officially greenlit Crew Girl, a new coming-of-age drama series, which is filming in Victoria, British Columbia. The series, dubbed as the streamer’s answer to We Were Liars for its moody teen life setting, is currently under production. It does not have a release date yet.

The series is created by Vivian Lin (SkyMed, The Lake) and produced by Thunderbird Entertainment’s Great Pacific Media, with executive producers Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, and Lori Massini attached.

Netflix’s upcoming teen drama Crew Girl dives into the world of an elite prep school from the perspective of 16-year-old ambitious rower Teagan. Tapped as the unlikely coxswain of an underperforming all-boys crew, Teagan faces not only the challenge of steering the boat but also navigating the competition, friendship, and romance.

A frothy, coming-of-age teen drama about a 16-year-old female rower Teagan who becomes the coxswain of a dysfunctional all-boys rowing team at an elite East Coast Prep School. Warring rivals, messy romantic entanglements, and betrayed friendships spill drama both in and out of the boat. Not to mention her complicated relationship with her mom, Ella. The team’s a mess, her life’s a mess. Can she fix both and win?

The series is expected to feature a blend of sports drama with classic coming-of-age themes, exploring how Teagan grows as she attempts to balance the pressures of school, family, and self.

With a cast led by Miku Martineau and creative direction from showrunner Vivian Lin, Crew Girl promises an emotional, high-energy story about resilience, belonging, and finding your voice.

Who is Starring in Crew Girl?

The new Netflix coming-of-age drama Crew Girl has a vibrant young cast led by Miku Martineau, who plays Teagan, the determined 16-year-old rower at the center of the story. She is known for her breakout role in the Netflix action thriller Kate, and has more recently starred in Bet.

She is joined by Jessica Paré (Mad Men) as Ella, the supportive but complicated mother of Teagan, along with Thomas Cadrot (Scream) as Coach Hayden.
