Brock Lesnar’s return at the 2025 SummerSlam was a shocking event that many had not anticipated. However, with his return, he also stirred up a ton of controversies, creating tension among the female staff in the wrestling promotion brand. In an exclusive report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlePurists), an insider told Dave Meltzer that the women staff were “privately disgusted.”
The staff could not believe how WWE believed it was the right idea to bring back The Beast Incarnate despite his name being mentioned in the Janel Grant lawsuit. But more importantly, how fans gave a deafening pop to him. Meltzer said,
It was told to us that some were strongly against it and that some women on the staff were even more unhappy with one using the term privately disgusted. Even after, there was the belief Lesnar’s return provided a momentary live pop, but even though fan reaction in the building was more a huge star was back as a positive and not a negative, many production team members don’t believe he moved the needle past the first week and many felt the segment with R-Truth was embarrassing. There was no discussion with staff after regarding the lawsuit or allegations.
The journalist emphasized how the staff was flabbergasted by how The God’s Perfect Fighting Machine changed his image instantly and how the “Ron Cena” segment was embarrassing to have in the first place.
Eric Bischoff Calls Out WWE’s Decision to Bring Back Brock Lesnar
Out of all the returns in WWE, the return of Brock Lesnar is perhaps the most controversial, which has divided the wrestling community. While some are thrilled to see him give a one-way ticket to Suplex City, others were unimpressed as he returned only to ruin John Cena’s Farewell Tour.
Appearing as a guest on the Toronto Sun, Eric Bischoff shares his opinion on how bringing back The Beast was not a move of “desperation and panic,” but rather how WWE is clueless on what they should do next to keep their viewers hooked. He said,
It’s not a sign of desperation as you implied. You didn’t say desperation, but it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, who’s next? There’s nobody next, we better bring back Brock.’ That infers desperation and panic. That’s not what bringing Brock in was. Bringing Brock in was here’s a guy who still wants to go, who absolutely sells tickets.
He continued,
The question suggests, at least it did to me, and I apologize if I’m putting words in your mouth, suggests kind of like, ‘I don’t know what to do next, let’s bring in Brock.’
Though Bischoff shared a negative perspective on Lesnar’s return to WWE after two years, he believed it was the right move for the wrestling promotion brand, especially with how TKO is inflating the ticket prices, ensuring profit maximization. But what will leave fans all the more surprised is how he was never banned from the company.
WWE Might Plan For Brock Lesnar To Lead The Vision
Ever since Brock Lesnar obliterated John Cena at ESPN’s inaugural PPV event, Wrestlepalooza, he has been a ghost. However, the WWE Universe has once again been buzzing his name, especially with how RAW ended with The Vision’s unforeseen betrayal of Seth Rollins. With the two Brons and The Oracle, Paul Heyman, without The Visionary, they might be on the lookout for someone to lead them.
According to a post on X, a wrestling page believes that Lesnar should join the faction and lead the two talents to even greater glory. Check out the tweet below:

This move makes sense because Heyman joins him at Wrestlepalooza, making his special announcement. Since then, the two have not had any interaction with each other. With Heyman pulling the strings from behind the scenes, he might convince his former client to join him in his villainous faction and destroy anyone who stands in their way!
