After opening to revered reviews at the Fantastic Fest Film Festival last year, Bone Lake is arriving in theatres this fall, and the opening for the erotic thriller has now been unveiled. The opening features a n-ked couple frantically running through the forest before getting hunted down. The man decides to run for his life by abandoning his partner, who trips and is pierced in the chest before being put down, while his balls are blasted on full display.
While gratuitous and visceral, the opening also evokes a twisted sense of humor that fans can expect from the movie, which releases on October 3.

Starring Maddie Hasson, Marco Pigossi, Alex Roe, and Andra Nechita, the opening makes it apparent that they might not be the first victims in Bone Lake.
The Erotic Thriller Explores An Underrepresented Facet of Modern Love
Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan, the movie will extend beyond its gratuitous and visceral imagery. While Morgan has made it clear that the horror will offer characteristics, much more familiar with popcorn movies, it’ll also expand on one aspect of modern relationships (via The Wrap).
According to the director, the horror will touch on an underrepresented narrative, acknowledging that audiences crave both the raw thrills and emotions, which will be present in this “psychos-xual, absurd, funny, horror nightmare of a game.“
Delving deeper, this film dances on the line of our complex cinematic cravings: we’re drawn to the intoxicating pull of gratuitous s-x and visceral violence, yet we simultaneously yearn for a tale anchored in emotions, trust and genuine partnership.
Bleecker Street and LD Entertainment will distribute the horror, marking another win for the genre in a year that has been riddled with revered entries.
