The rumors of a Bloodborne Remake that have been dead for a while have caught fire again, all because of Bluepoint Games’ job listing (via Tech4Gamers). The studio that remade games like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Demon Souls is looking for a Senior Combat Designer. Specifically, they are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of 3rd-person melee combat.
Out of all the games, fans think that a Bloodborne Remake might be on its way. It is one of those games that fans desperately want to play in modern settings while utilizing the capabilities of PS5 and PS5 Pro Consoles.
Bluepoint Games’ Combat-Focused Job Posting Suggests Something Is Cooking at Sony
The Bluepoint Games’ job listing is seeking a Senior Combat Designer who is well-versed in 3rd-person melee systems, enemy AI behavior, and character responsiveness. All of these in-game elements quickly align with the philosophy of Bloodborne
Bluepoint has already proven that they are more than capable of handling complex and high-stakes remakes, most notably with Demon’s Souls on PS5. This achievement also makes them a qualified candidate to introduce a Bloodborne Remake enhanced for current-gen consoles like PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Thankfully, Bluepoint also has all the time in the world to focus on this rumored project. As a live-service God of War project under this production house, which got cancelled back in January, the developers can purely focus on bringing back Sony’s soulslike title.
Why a Bloodborne Remake Makes Sense in Recent Times
From both the business and player perspective, a Bloodborne Remake is one of the smartest moves Sony could possibly make right now. The original game is currently stuck at 30 FPS on the old PS4 hardware, with no official upgrade for PS5. Frankly, players want a modern experience with visual enhancements, faster load times, and a 60 FPS upgrade, which has been relentless for years.
Beyond technical updates, timing is everything. Now is the best time ever to remaster the game, as Soulslike is currently enjoying a peak playerbase, thanks to Elden Ring. Reviving Sony’s old soulslike can help them capitalize on the momentum and introduce new fans to the series.
On top of everything, Sony is currently interested in reviving old IPs through remasters and remakes, making Bloodborne an obvious candidate. Whether this job listing from Bluepoint Games is the first real sign or just another false alarm, one thing is clear – the Bloodborne community is still active.
