Baki-Dou is the sequel to the Baki and Baki Hanma manga, and Netflix is all set to debut its anime adaptation in 2026. A new teaser trailer has also been revealed for the anime, and TMS Entertainment will continue as the animation production studio.
At the same time, the teaser has revealed the debut of a new adversary by the name of Miyamoto Musashi. He is a legendary samurai and the main opponent of Baki in Baki-Dou.
Baki-Dou Anime to Revive Miyamoto Musashi in 2026
After the clash with his father, Yujiro Hanma, it might be hard to visualize a villain strong enough to take on Baki. Yet, Baki-Dou will debut a brand new opponent to challenge Baki Hanma. Miyamoto Musashi is an iconic and legendary swordsman of Japan who lived from 1584 to 1645. So, how is Baki debuting the man who lived centuries ago?

The Miyamoto Musashi in Baki is actually a clone created from the spinal tissue of the real man. It was Sabuko Tokugawa who infused an empty clone with Musashi’s soul, even providing him with his former memories and skillset. This cloned Musashi receives various invitations to battle modern-day champions. The character sees this as an opportunity to reclaim the glory of his previous life and is not reluctant to cut down the strongest of opponents.
In the upcoming anime, the 17th-century legend will be brought into the modern era, setting the stage for his battle against Baki. The clones Mushashi is a refined yet lethal force in battles and has precision and speed on his side, along with a tactical advantage.
Where Does Baki-Dou Fit in With the Rest of the Franchise?
